Have you thought they're speaking it specifically so that other players won't understand? Or more likely, they just do it because it's easier for them and there's no necessity for others to know what they're talking about

Ok no I get that. BUT WHY DO YOU HAVE TO GIVE TEAM COMMS IN RUSSIAN IF I TOLD YOU I CANT UNDERSTAND SHIT OF WHAT YOU’RE SAYING JUST FOR YOU TO BLAME ME IN ENGLISH AT THE END OF THE GAME??

u/Dipsislover Jun 16 '26

1) In competitive games most of the russian players does NOT understand english. Or can comprehend that others don't speak russian or that your answer: "I don't understand" doesn't mean "Да, я прекрасно тебя понимаю".

2) Sometimes under stress they just forget that there also players from other countries.

3) 70% of PVP games players are toxic pieces of shit, and love to blame others for their own mistakes (REGARDLESS OF COUNTRY)

Most Russians I hear in voice chat simply say "shut up" and then a string of what I assume are Russian expletives.

79

u/Karijus Jun 16 '26

It's 90% expletives and not much useful

15

u/CountrysideLassy Jun 17 '26

Every time there's a Russian player in my deadlock lobbies, or other similar games, they'll be very obviously talking to us (saying our usernames and stuff), but whenever someone responds to say they don't understand, the guy will immediately just start saying English insults with a very thick accent and a mocking voice. I just don't understand their mentality

3

u/_Guven_ Jun 17 '26

It's a peak mentality, we mortals can't grasp it

6

u/AdElectronic6550 🏳️‍⚧️fem Bianka Jun 16 '26

it's way funnier if someone is angry at you in a language you don't understand

1

u/Free-Sample-216 Jun 18 '26

So they are doing what op is doing from other side

39

u/Capybarasaregreat Jun 16 '26

Your other points are right, but:

  1. Sometimes under stress they just forget that there also players from other countries.

Is deranged "automatic" behaviour in a setting with near constant exposure to foreigners.

I’ll tell you that in my experience (at least in deadlock since it’s what I’ve been playing recently) MOST of bad actors in team chat are at least Slavic (I really can’t tell between each language since I’m from Italy and I’m not familiar with the sound or alphabet). Usually I will make it clear that me and my friends can’t understand a word they are saying but that usually is met with either silence (which is fair, maybe they don’t speak the language) or just straight up slurs. It’s frustrating not to communicate especially in team games and even more so if the person you’re talking to makes no attempts to communicate back

u/Kruger_Sheppard Jun 16 '26

As a slavic myself. Im confident to say that eastern europe gotta be the most toxic playerbase especially in competitive games.

That is usually because majority of our population is very competitive and it's a different social mentality.

While in the wester europe people often neutral or forgiving when someone does a mistake, in the eastern side it's completely opposite. And it is not just the internet, it's schools, universities, workplaces

1

u/CustodianCloset The Teto guy who likes Economics Jun 16 '26

Wouldn't it be as a Slav?

1

u/Sai_RGBnsky Jun 17 '26

Well, it's obviously depends. I can tell you funny story about 1 finnish person who was more toxic than everyone. Said some shit about drones and fathers on war, but on next day(there not only 1 example, but it's the most good), we cooperated with bunch of guys from Kazakhstan and Ukraine, and there was 0 toxicity

1

u/Kruger_Sheppard Jun 17 '26

Yeah it swings like that too. I could be playing dota 2 or cs 2 with my friends and hear neverending shit towards everyone or it could be all of us just having fun and goofing around.

Aswell if you mention russia to a Ukrainian, Georgian, Kazakh, Finnish or almost every other neighbouring country to russia you'll start a long rant shitting on russia (completely valid 90% of the time btw)

u/Karijus Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

I've been playing with Slavic people sometimes (and im east euro myself don't get me wrong), and a lot of times it's kinda a form of bullying or something, kinda lost respect for some people after they did it

Even the excuse of not knowing EN doesn't work, since they usually do know EN, or at least a few usually know it

Worst one was when I was playing OW 5v5 premades, and one time someone dropped out and we had no one else, so we played with a "random", who happened to speak English, and they straight up just turned on Russian mode leaving them completely in the dark, while also insulting all the time

This was before the war too

And I thought they are more or less normal people but wtf

Just kinda venting but holy shit I hate that behaviour

Ooph, post 14, mostly Bela and Ru

1

u/Save90 Jun 17 '26

4

u/SecretBar1744 Jun 16 '26

aka they are actually mentally challenged

1

u/juicysteak4806 Jun 16 '26

Two out of three of those are a skill issue.

1

u/Uncommonality Jun 16 '26

Also, cyrillic keyboards don't exactly have buttons for latin characters. It's annoying to type in english with those

1

u/gr8masturb8 Jun 16 '26

sucks, but maybe adapt.

99% (number from my ass) of the non-russians they get matched with don't speak english natively either, but they usually have no issues switching to it when necessary.

1

u/el_ratonido Jun 17 '26

Last part is very true, they just scream and blame you and don't even try to help at all. I think they do it just for the sake of toxicity, I wonder how their life is.

1

u/JovanThePlatypus456 Jun 17 '26

Tf you mean forget people outside of russia exist? I know they force their language on thoose even outside if russia but damn, thats on another level of stupid. Im not from engish speaking country but in 21st century english is franca lingua, you really shoud kearn it since it really isnt that hard

1

u/MyR3dditAcc0unt Jun 17 '26

Point 2 is fucking stupid and you know it. Oh no i forgot the entire rest of the world exists because the enemy is rushing B!

Or if this is truly the case, they're seriously more brainwashed than i thought.

30

u/No-Temporary6253 Jun 16 '26

That's funny if they call you dogshit for not listening to their call outs in English when the call outs are in Russian. I would actually knee slap to that

15

u/Extra_Crispy_Bacon Jun 16 '26

Unfortunately extremely common. Sometimes it sucks playing online games so close to Russia.

38

u/AverageEnjoyer2 Jun 16 '26

We do a little trolling

24

u/P3t3rCreeper mods, sieze his worldly possessions Jun 16 '26

You know what, fair. As long as instead of calling everybody slurs you call me trash in a hybrid between mine and Donald duck’s voice like that one guy I met a while ago

5

u/BlaiddDrwg812 Jun 16 '26

Why do you think they called you slurs? Im not say they were not, but if you don't understand then how you get that?

11

u/WeirdAssBeings 🍆literally a femboy🏳️‍🌈 Jun 16 '26

I've learned some Russian slurs for this reason alone, they say these more than actual other words lmao.

6

u/BlaiddDrwg812 Jun 16 '26

It is normal. Russian speakers can use 75% of the speech as slurs never losing the meaning.

2

u/Swimming_Mongoose167 Jun 16 '26

swears, not slurs, slurs are targeted to a certain minority, so in russian it'd be stuff like "чурка", which is (usually) not 75% of speech

1

u/BlaiddDrwg812 Jun 16 '26

As he learned "some" slurs and hear them often I assume it were random bad words. There are not too many targeted slurs in Russian and I doubt that non speaker can easily identify these.

3

u/P3t3rCreeper mods, sieze his worldly possessions Jun 16 '26

They do it in English unfortunately

2

u/BlaiddDrwg812 Jun 16 '26

Oh. Must be some underdeveloped kids. Im sorry you had to have a conversation with them. 'You, Fuck' are the only English words they know.

4

u/dudddude Jun 16 '26

Потому что понабирают всяких долбаёбов

9

u/[deleted] Jun 16 '26

You do not need to understand, you are not part of the "team". Yes you may be in the team, but you are not "братюня".

We communicate ancient techniques of rushing B with brisk sexy dance moves and squats, you sre simply noth worthy of the knowledge.

РАШ Б СУКА!

1

u/Honeybadger2198 Jun 16 '26

They're writing "I don't understand English" in Russian.

1

u/gr8masturb8 Jun 16 '26

i dunno, from my experience it's mostly various forms of "go fuck yourself".

unless google translate changes "i don't speak english" into a string of assorted expletives?

1

u/miscellaneousexists Jun 16 '26

Listen man, let's say I'm on deadlock and we have you, abrams, and me on my team. We don't count the three other lobotomites that don't listen to comms whatsoever, listen, we're working with scraps here.

Now, it's 20th minute and I already figured out that Abrams doesn't speak english and you don't speak russian

If I give comms in russian, I'm talking to Abrams. These comms are none of your business.

1

u/Yell245 Jun 17 '26

Just say "poshol nahui", that'll surprise 'em

1

u/Kamfrenchie Jun 17 '26

"There are many words tgat describe the average russian, and "bilingual" isnt one of them"
