Solved! Does anyone know what this device may be??
So unfortunately I do not have a photo to provide because I cant remember what it 100% looked like and my memory is pretty jumbled to bear with me. I was born in 2004 and when I was about maybe 4-6 years old I was given this device from my dad that kinda looked like a phone but it was completely horizontal. I remember the screen being an orange color and the buttons lit up orange too. the rest of the device was just black I’m pretty sure. I remember being able to play only a snippet of certain songs like Big Poppa by the notorious b.i.g. and I used it quite a bit for probably a couple months and that was it. I don’t recall if I ever did anything else on it.. I’ll share a doodle of what I’m thinking of, probably won’t help much but any ideas would be awesome!!
Edit: Solved! I was wrong about the buttons being on the bottom, lol, it’s a Nokia N-Gage

Oh my god the memories. Having to dismantle the thing to change your game and the battery lasting 2 minutes.

Cell phones made specifically for kids and seniors were a big thing during that time, I think one brand was called cricket but there were others.
If it wasn’t a phone, the hard thing is that there were a lot of weird little misc one off devices during this time shaped that way. I’ve seen my aunts play little game show games on devices like this for example, and there were some that were supposed to be like a phone book that just held contacts etc. without more info it could literally be hundreds of things.

This is your toddler's busy board. I'm so glad to see it's made such an impression on your adult scholarly life.
