Yep, my parents used to have one. I remember it well, because my father, being the cheapskate that he is, refused to replace it after moving to the USA from the UK (or god forbid, just make tea in the morning). Voltage was fine, since he used a transformer to step it back up to 240, but since it was on 60hz instead of 50hz, it ran 20% too fast. For YEARS, he had a chart that he had made and consulted every evening to offset the time and have it go off at the correct time in the morning.
