New, what is it? Small prophet object - water device on bed?

What is this thing ? At first I thought it was an old CPAP and then an espresso machine!

I want this so bad, but I think it was a fire hazard 😓

As a former owner I can tell you that they are not as good as they seem. They take five noisy minutes to boil and pour into the cup, at which point you’re wide awake before the alarm even goes off. What’s worse is that you still have to remove the tea bag, add milk (which has been carefully measured and left out of the fridge all night), and then wait for the tea to become a drinkable temperature. A complete waste of half an hour of sleep.

I usually have one alarm to wake up, and then another for when I actually have to get out of bed. If it starts making tea for the second alarm, the rumbling wouldn't bother me. Needing to take the bag out is more motivation to get up so I won't have bitter tea, and there are room temperature creamers out there.

You won't be saying that as it spits hot water at you seconds before the alarm goes off

That would definitely wake me up!

The water boiling always wakes you up before the alarm.

Nespresso makes one with wifi and a morning coffee timer thing on the app… but this is so much cooler.

Modern version is an Alexa or similar enabled device to turn on the kettle

Breville makes a tea maker with a timer ready whenever you plan to wake up and will keep it warm for you too and won’t over steep it.
