Accommodation help / Wohnungssuche

Hi everyone, I’ll be studying for a Master’s degree at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena in the subject of Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache. I’m arriving in Germany on 26 September, but I still haven’t managed to find a apartment :(( I’ve had no luck on ‘wg gesucht’ after replying to around 50 posts (nobody’s replied), and STW are still silent

I know there are quite a lot of people here who’ve also had no luck finding accommodation, but perhaps one of you reading this might have a spare room in Weimar (totally open to Jena, Erfurt, Gera, or nearby areas) - I’d be really grateful!

I viewed an apartment in Kromsdorf recently, public transport is quite „restricted“ in the evening hours especially. I‘m a student so I’m getting nothing out of this. I don’t know if the owner would accept either so theres that :)

Gera ist eine der günstigsten Städte in Thüringen. Definitiv günstiger als Weimar. Wohnungen bekommt man meistens recht leicht über die örtlichen Genossenschaften, in Weimar zum Beispiel die Weimarer Wohnstätte oder GWG. Dort einfach Online anmelden und als Interessent eintragen lassen. Oft haben die keine aktiven Angebote auf Ihren Websites, aber genügend freie Wohnungen auf Anfrage.
