There are wedding shaming groups on fb. And once one of them gets their hands on a juicy post, its not long until the others pick them up too, so they spread FAST. Especially when the person being shamed has a public profile and a shit ton of followers. Because the likelihood is very high that someone who follows her is in one of the groups.

I haven't been on fb in a while, but I swear, fb users can find someone's entire life story if they have the will to do so. Its like a million detectives who only investigate petty drama.

If you ever want to find something on facebook where the names are blurred/missing, try Mr B's Guide and Friendly Advice to Finding Shit without Names, Not Guaranteed to Work, Though [that's the title my agent said I should use. FTW Ally Pngn Rndm Hs LLC Imprnt Crwn Pblshng Grp]:

  • try taking a unique sentence out of the post, and type it into the facebook search field.
  • try with and without quotes; sometimes they help, sometimes not.
  • if you get nothing or too many results, either expand or reduce the part of the post you used to search. Sometimes adding the following sentence from the post works. Sometimes dropping half the sentence works.

Example: let's say a post reads

"I was 14 the first time I murdered a man. He was behind the NVM shopping mall [shades of 'ATM machine' - ed.] where my friends and I used to take our handguns and fire them nearly straight up into the air, trying to get the perfect angle - very close to 90 degrees - for the bullets to land in the seas of parking lots that surround most of the mall. We tried for 3 years but never heard of anyone or anything being damaged or destroyed. Hundreds of bullets wasted, and they weren't the easiest thing to shoplift, not like Marlboros and Budweisers. So there we were shooting straight up, and a car comes rolling up to us. Mr Shiny Cadillackness powered his window down and beckoned us over. He apparently knew Robert because he said directly to him - and this is a quote - "Hey there little Robert, your mother got fired from her job today, so looks like you're gonna be living in the woods again you annoying little rat." Now Robert and his mom had been living for a summer out behind the Marshalls and Farm Shoppe building. Seems the thought of ending up living outside again was enough to make Robert cry right there, right then. No one makes my friends cry without instant attack. I raised my gun and pointed it at Mr Shiny Cadillackness' nose and pulled the trigger until it went click. His head looks like a Gallagher watermelon, and I know he's dead. Do you wanna know how I feel about it? I don't feel the least little bit bad. No one gives a shit about Mr Shiny or his rearranged head. Time rolls on. Drinks flow, people forget. That big wheel spins, the hair thins, people forget. And there was a statute of limitations in CT back in the day, so ride that pony, Mony Mony."

So what you do is take a somewhat unique sentence, or part of that sentence, and try it with/without quotes: "We tried for 3 years but never heard of anyone or anything being damaged or destroyed."

Depending on results, you may shorten the sentence you're using, perhaps to "never heard of anyone or anything being damaged or destroyed."

Adding the following sentence to the search term may help, too, now being "We tried for 3 years but never heard of anyone or anything being damaged or destroyed. Hundreds of bullets wasted, and it wasn't the easiest thing to shoplift."

Happy hunting. All hail the rise of blue jenkum. And take a hint, don't buy the crypto, buy the entire crypt instead.

It’s one of those things I’d never heard anyone say before but the second I read it I was like “yes. I needed to hear this”
