Getting married on SATURDAY!!! All the family is coming into town tomorrow (Thursday), the house is clean, the flowers are watered...there's somehow so much to do and yet nothing at all. The next 4-5 days are gonna be PACKED. But we got this.

10/10!!! Where are you ordering the seating chart from?

We bought a board of Facebook marketplace and we’re going to print the cards ourselves. Unfortunately we don’t have time to do anything else.

It’s happening on Saturday the 3rd! Tomorrow is our joint bachelor party. Family started traveling and  friends are arriving in town today.  The leftover hurricane storm system been slowing some down in their travels.

Two more weeks! This week’s goal is putting together the welcome bags and trying not to obsess over the weather.

Getting married 10/17! I cannot believe it’s already here omg…I picked up my dress yesterday and it fits perfectly! Only a couple more final payments need to be made. I wrote my vows a month ago but definitely need to take a look at them again and see if I want to change anything. I’m so glad we’re doing private vows though. I’m so stressed out for the day of, but I can wait to see everything come together after planning for the last year!!

Just had my wedding on 10/2. We didn't hire a wedding planner and had it at a government event center for 110 guests for just under 25k. A lot of the planning and logistics were on us, but we also had a lot of help from family and friends. Overall I think the whole planning went well, but I was very stressed leading up to it as there were so many little things to keep track of or complete, a lot of scrambling the last 2 days putting things together like place cards, mirror graphic, picking up alcohol, etc.

Set up went for the most part very well. Almost everything that was planned to be set up was, but the vision for the decorating was mostly on my wife so I can't tell like expected vs delivered. I think we had like 20 family and friends the day of helping out moving things from our houses to the venue, and helping decorate. I think only a couple small things got lost in the sauce.

Hanging out with the groomsman for a few hours was fun. I wasn't really nervous, just popped up time to time, but hanging out with friends is always great.

Ceremony went great, thankful our rehearsal got everything down and timed well. Our friend who was the officiant was great. I think she wasn't close enough to the mic for her vows so some people had trouble hearing. I think we did the rings in the opposite order of the I Do's, but oh well, all 3 of us up there laughed at ourselves.

Family photos were kind of a mess, I think my wife had a set up of 15 different family photos and that was cut to like 9 after wrangling everyone together right after the ceremony was harder than we thought. Like you were just here 30 seconds ago, how are you missing for 10 minutes? We got the important ones with our direct family at least.

We did spend a lot of time taking couple photos, so hopefully those came out well.

Food was great and better than expected. We had BBQ catering. A family friend made our cupcakes and even though she made 150 of them we didn't get any because they were all eaten :( Our cake was just a heart cake from Walmart, it looked very nice but the taste was pretty whatever so we only had our picture bites of it. We bought more alcohol than we needed, but that was expected as we are planning on returning most of it back to Costco. Hard to tell what people are going to be mainly drinking.

The dances went all right, we didn't really practice for any of them because we had so much going on, but I'm not much of a dancer anyway. Speeches were good.

I made all the music playlists (didn't hire a DJ) and other than our first playlist being put on shuffle instead of going through it, the music went well. We had an "after party" mode where about 1.5 hrs in to the 2.5 hrs of dancing we turned it up a bit and brought out glow sticks and light up foam wands, highly recommend as it brought life back to the dance floor and it was popping the rest of the night.

After we "departed" (just drove around the block), clean up was a bit of a rush. Our event staff threw away some more things than they should have (like these plastic goblet things we bought), but nothing of any real value in the grand scheme of things (idk like $300 worth?), but we still have a lot to parse through as half of the stuff is still at my moms.

We had a little meet up the day before and the next day as well that ~half of the people came to.

Overall I'm very happy with it. Right now I am experiencing a lot of emotions. Very happy with it all, relieved that it's over (stress was affecting my mental health), sad that we couldn't spend more time with everyone, grateful for everyones help, anticipating our honey moon where we hopefully can just relax.

A lot of people say their wedding goes by in a flash, but I don't think it did, there's just so much to do and a lot going on that you can't just sit and enjoy the small details or moments as much like you can at another persons wedding. You just go from big moment to big moment. Like we didn't get to hang out during our cocktail hour, we didn't sit very long during our dinner, and most conversations with people are just "thank you! so glad you came!" Thankfully one of my groomsman has a wedding in 3 months so I can kind of get that experience that it feels like we missed.

Idk just kind of threw all my thoughts out there to help process the emotions.

10.10! Woke up the past few days feeling feeling pretty euphoric, even cried while chatting with my fiancé before work on Friday. We’re getting married!

Finally completed all the sewing and crafting projects this weekend. My list is now a few small things: continuing to practice our ceremony, tying some ribbon onto the opera loops on my dress to make them easier to find, washing our cake toppers, and packing! We had our last meeting with our day-of coordinator yesterday. She’s coming over to our place on Wednesday to pick up a bunch of decor items. Our first guests will arrive in town Wednesday, too, so that feels like the unofficial start of the wedding weekend.

Getting married 10/24! Biggest thing to do is to finish paying off vendors and finalizing the menu for the farewell brunch the next day. Last bit of decor is being delivered these next two weeks and my cousin is coming down next week to help me finish up the center pieces. And gotta pick the procession songs. Got mine, but need his and the wedding party. On the plus side, we finally got our rings this past weekend.

I can’t believe it’s almost here! A year of planning will come to fruition on the 25th. Just had my bachelorette this past weekend and bachelor party is next weekend. All final payments have been made. Last dance lesson is this week. Vows have been written, attire and rings have been picked up and all fit perfectly. I need to finish the seating chart and finish packing everything into labeled bins to hand off to the venue. Ahh! I can’t wait!

I realized I hate my wedding dress! I was talked into it by the salesman because it was a going out of business sale and it was an excellent price and i felt guilty for bringing my friends out to watch me try on dreses and not buy anything. I can't wear the dress for me than 2 minutes without sweating excessively from the polyester. So I'm going to make my own!

Finally recovered from a three-month slump where I could barely bring myself to think about the wedding, let alone work on it. (Not wedding-related slump, I just didn't have the energy to spare.) I'm behind schedule now but I've recovered my motivation, so hopefully I can get back on track. I finally managed to get the digital save-the-dates out last week, and I'm making progress on my DIYs! Lots of sewing and centerpiece design in my near future.

Same I've done nothing the past three months 😭😭 Most major vendors are booked but I still need a caterer, hair stylist, and ceremony musician so lots to do

Spent an ungodly amount of money on custom-designed stationery only to end up designing all of it myself…

Working on my wedding invites, first engagement party this weekend and I’m juggling my final semester of nursing school at the same time. My wedding dress is going to be hemmed this month and I can’t wait to see it again!

Sent save the dates and everyone starting to receive them!! Yay! Working on hotel room blocks, invitation design and browsing dresses for other events (bought my ceremony/reception dress already)

3

u/SpeakMed 13d ago

Ordered Save the Dates, waiting for them to arrive, will hopefully get them in the mail this weekend. Got Zola website up & running with registry. Met with our Day-of coordinator who was very helpful in getting together an early working timeline and helping us think through things we hadn't considered. Booking hair and makeup this week too and that will be the last of the major vendors!

Hotel block is set, just booked our flights (!!!!), talking to one photographer next week & working on sourcing backups & working on invite designs 💛

My MOH did just tell me she's preganté (likely to be due in May) so that's...less than ideal 🥲🥲

Bought my DREAM wedding dress this weekend at a great price for what it is. It was my fifth appointment. I’m so obsessed and excited 💗

Otherwise starting to make traction with key vendors. Rushing to get our save the dates out, we just need two more addresses then we can place the order for printing!!

Bought my dress this past weekend! It won’t come in until March.
Getting hair quotes, hoping to make a decision on that this month.

Also, ordered a sample of our save the date and loved it. Ordering the rest this weekend! Hoping to get them sent out by the end of the month.
Struggling with envelopes though - where can I get JUST the pre-printed envelopes?

Engaged last month and realized…we cannot afford a wedding or justify the cost when we want to buy a house.

We are eloping next week and saving for a kick ass wedding in two years.
