Recap/Budget Just got married. Here is my advice!
Do not worry about anything. The day is going to go exactly how it is going to happen. Your hair may not be perfect, your make up may start to melt. The photographer who ghosted you for 3 months will show up. Don’t worry about saying hello to each and every guest. Enjoy your new husband. Don’t worry about timeframes and sticking to an itinerary. Be with your loved ones. Don’t worry about being a drunk bride, it’s your day have fun. You feel bloated in your dress? Cool who cares, people are going to say you look gorgeous anyways because everyone is there for you and your husband not to judge how your body looks. Don’t sweat small details when planning because honestly no one cares except for you. You do not have to spend a million dollars to make memories. Don’t worry about stepping away from your husband you’ll be with him hopefully forever. If you have family that is causing problems just ignore it, it’s not your problem that day. Just relax, feel like a bad ass, and enjoy your day because it happens so fast.

Mine is in 9 days. Paused working on my day before, day-of, and day after to-do list of doom and read this.
Deep breath. I needed to hear this.

Best advice. think of it like living art. Trying to control everything is going to make you not enjoy anything.

I needed this too! I'm 2 months out and starting to stress that my day won't be instagram-pretty. I never even post on Instagram!! I don't have a budget like that anyway so why did I think it was going to look like that?? This post helped me to relax, thank you!
And congratulations!! 👰♀️

I’m sorry but this made me laugh in the best way. Instagram and any other social media is fake. The only thing i posted from my wedding is the pic attached to this post haha. It’s just because it’s raw and authentic to us. You don’t have to make your wedding around any “standard” but your own. Just be happy !! Social media is for comparing yourself to everyone else in the world, 90% of it is bs. I’m sure your wedding will be beautiful!

Also if it’s your thing, have sex early on in the wedding day instead of waiting till after when you’re spent. If it does happen after then bonus! #fuckfirst

My wedding day tip — personal experience is: Always keep laughing - you never know who might snap a photo from somewhere. So, keep smiling. Things might arise, sudden changes, caterers going crazy - no matter what - just smile and enjoy. Only you and your better half matter on your wedding day - nobody else. Only your happiness counts. So, don't panic - don't lash out or complain to each other - just enjoy. It's one of those very rare days in your entire life when you will have a day just for you. This is one.

Literally needed this. Never expected that I’d be the kinda bride to be so hyperfixated on the small stuff. Anxiety is a hell of a drug

Love this and totally agree. I got married in July and it was a wreck of a day (things were late getting set up, we forgot to have someone in charge of rings and had to pause ceremony to find them, my zipper on my dress broke so I had to wear a shirt under it and pin it shut, etc) but I wouldn’t change any of it. I’m happy it happened and am happy to be with the love of my life.

Great post!! I had a very similar mindset going into my wedding. Any time I talked weddings with married women, they *always* had a story about what went wrong at their wedding. And years after the fact, they laughed about it. It makes for a good story. It's probably what they end up remembering most about their wedding day.
So on my wedding day, I went in with the mindset "something is going to go wrong, and it's going to be a great story". When the zipper of my dress completely shattered about 20 minutes before the ceremony, my mom and sisters were panicking and trying to pin it all together and praying that it'd hold. I just remember standing there calmly and thinking "well, I guess this is the thing that went wrong at my wedding". I know there was some bridesmaids drama, drama with other guests, and something with the food? I legit do not remember. It felt like after that first thing went wrong, I had permission to just sit back and enjoy the party. I had an absolute blast at my wedding. It was beautiful (I was beautiful!), full of love, and a great start to the rest of my life. I think when you think of your wedding as the biggest day of your whole life, there's so much more pressure for perfection and that'll lead you to not really enjoy it. The day goes by sooo quick, just try to be present and collect as many memories as you can. You already did the hard part of planning, enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Genuinely teared up a little. Family sometimes puts too much pressure on the day being perfect but thats not what matters.
Thank you for this!

Yes, yes, YES!!!! I made it a point to spend the majority of the night dancing with my husband. It was the best night and everything I worried about never even crossed my mind. And there’s definitely people I did not talk to lol.

Try and find someone to handle things on the day of.At times a family member will help. Guests need someone to help direct them if the Wedding is above a certain number.

I love this! I had a similar mentality and just wanted to enjoy it with my loved ones! My family almost ruined it right before it started but it still turned out beautifully.

Congratulations. This is so true it will all work out in the end and at the end of the day it is about you and your partner to be and your loved ones wether it’s a hundred people or four. Best advice

Take a moment and look around. Your family & friends are there to celebrate you as a couple. The day/evening goes so fast. So breathe & look & capture the moment to your memory xx
