My sister is the bride and she likes the dress but wanted to see what other people think, particularly other those of other ages and generations.
Wedding is in April, dress code will most likely be semi-formal to cocktail. I love the details and the fit. I do wish it was a little less low cut.

I was asked to be a plus one to a wedding within a week from the event. All I know about the dress code is they asked for western formal. I’m not someone who has a lot of western items in their closet so I went and did some last minute shopping today. Will this be appropriate? I also have a black suede hat I’ll be using.
If anyone can give some suggestions / feedback, I’d really appreciate it. The wedding is in two days!

Hi all, I have my first “black tie” wedding in May, is this dress appropriate? Worried that it looks like a 2 piece
I’m also confused as it starts at 3pm and there is no wedding breakfast. It’s a “twilight wedding” so it’s just pizzas at the night do, feels strange to have it as a black tie occasion… but thats just me picking!
I appreciate the colour doesn’t scream summer but I’m struggling to find anything I like.
Thanks!

Is this dress okay for a cocktail attire wedding in Charleston, SC this weekend? Planning to dress it up with heels, clutch, and earrings and will likely wear hair up!

Would really appreciate some help choosing between these options! I haven't been to a black-tie wedding in quite a while, and honestly, I haven't attended many weddings in the US (I'm originally from another country), so I'm a little unsure about the dress code and what's considered appropriate.
The wedding website says the dress code is formal evening attire, meaning suits or tuxes for men and formal dresses or gowns for women and "we can't wait to see everyone dressed to the nines as we celebrate!"
Would you interpret this as black tie, black-tie optional or just formal? And with that in mind, which of these dresses would you pick?
Would love some opinions! Thank you 🤗
First 3 are from Reformation and the last one is Lulu's!

edited to add: Just to clarify, the coral outfit was never intended for the Orthodox wedding. I have a lot of respect for all faiths and their dress codes, and I apologise if my original post gave a different impression. also, a few of you mentioned the detail (nipples) on the top. It does look that way in the photo, but it’s actually just an unusual crease or bump in the fabric, which I hadn’t even noticed until it was pointed out
Orthodox Jewish wedding -no dress code - but has to be modest. (Never been to one, so very excited)
Spring outdoor wedding. Dress code optional-spring /garden. (Doesnt have to be modest)
Currently Spring in Australia
I don't know what's in style anymore and only live in black. Help me pick for each wedding. I'm happy to repeat an outfit if only one here is a favourite (two very different social circles), or do I go back to the drawing board?
Image 1&2.
The coral may be too much and costume like? (Cami only worn for this picture but can find something to make it more modest)
Image 3&4.
Lilac/ Purple is actually lovely, but I'm not sure if it screams, grandma (I don't think that's a bad thing, lol)
Image 5&6.
The green is an absolute no as much as I wanted to wear it, never tried on a more ill-fitting dress and a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
Image 7&8
Red/ burgundy, I dont have opinions except that I need shapewear 😅
Image 9
Brown- I wore to a dinner recently and received compliments, but I'm not sure if it's too casual? (Will wear cami under as dress is kind of sheer)

Hi all! I posted here a few days ago asking if a dress was too white to wear as a wedding guest (white background with red floral). The consensus was yes, so I'm back to ask further opinions! One of the new options is also a red floral dress with white background, but the pattern takes up more space than the white background which is why I've included it for opinions... but if any white background is a no no it'll be scrapped from the options.
DC : Beach formal (not only a beach, at a golf club overlooking a beach), suggestions were fun sundresses for women and linen suits for men. No light blue.
I have a red shawl and a black shawl, that i will wear over the black floral dress and the rose one if these are picked (tied higher for modesty with the black one and to add more red to the rose one). Only showing it with the rose dress since the other dresses are now in the wash. The dark blue polka dot one is a bit less formal but due to the dc suggesting sundresses I think it'll still be a safe option
Any thoughts are appreciated!!
Had to repost since I put the incorrect images, and couldn't find a way to edit the images attached

I’m going to a wedding at a cider house in New Hampshire this Saturday and the dress code is formal. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding a dress that works because I recently gained a lot of weight and my body is not what I’m comfortable with normally (size 12/14). I’m 5’4”so this is a bit longer on me than on the model.
I got it in green velvet and navy crêpe. It’s been hard for me to decide, but I’m leaning towards the green velvet only because it’s more forgiving for lumps and bumps.
I plan on pairing it with gold strappy sandals, a gold clutch, and a black faux fur cropped jacket. I also have some crystal earrings/tennis bracelet, and I want to try to do my hair down and curly in a sort of side swept style to the side with the bare shoulder.

PLEASE HELP!! I don't attend super fancy weddings very often, and am struggling with black tie event attire. The bride specifically requested bright summery colors. Technically she described the dress code as "colorful black tie." As i have discussed with her, she said she is okay with a slit, and cares more about it being a fun and unique dress that is floor length.
Is this dress appropriate? I'm pretty short so it will definitely be floor length on me based on the measurements of the dress. Thanks in advance!!

The invitation says Dress code: Formal
For men, a suit or elevated evening attire is perfect
- ties, bow ties, and boleros are welcome but not required. Tuxedos are best saved for another occasion.
For women, elevated cocktail dresses are ideal or floor-length gowns.
I love the floral but I’m afraid it’s too much/too fluffy. Please help!
It’s also city rooftop if helpful with vibe.

Does this dress look formal enough for a wedding in November at an upscale winery? Or does it look semi-formal/dressy casual? 🤔
this is the 3rd dress I’ve considered for this wedding. The first dress was too black-tie & the 2nd dress was too beachy/summery, according to this sub… to me, this feels like a happy middle.
TIA.

I posted earlier but I’m starting over because I learned more info about the event. The bride is going a bit non traditional and is wearing maroon. The invite doesn’t say specifics for dress code so tagging with my best guess. If it helps the Jack and Jill was casual (my bf was the only one in a suit and my dress was similar to this one but blue satin like fabric. We were over dressed compared to most guests)
I was thinking black heels and a lariat necklace with black stones.
So basically does sound formal enough and have I gotten far enough away from maroon?

This would be perfect for a summer garden formal wedding guest, right? I don't know why I am second guessing and getting tripped up by the length, but formal doesn't have to be floor length, correct?

Looking for opinions on whether or not this is appropriate for a semi formal/cocktail dress code. For more context, in a colder climate where the weather will be low 50s at most. This is a reception only at a local restaurant in the evening. I have this dress and wondering if I wear slightly off shoulder with heels, a clutch and the right accessories if this could work?

Struggling so much with this. Very nice formal barn wedding first weekend in November. Country formal has the guys in pressed jeans and boots and jackets with ties. Gals are wearing high-low, long, and tea length with boots (if they have them). I want something that will be useful again. I’m the aunt. I’m small and the usual fluffy flouncy clothes just swallow me and make me look dowdy. What do you think of these? Is the blue too winter? I would probably wear the blue with a more refined heel or boot. Husband is wearing a blue and brown jacket with tie over jeans

I’m going to a wedding in about 2.5 weeks in Connecticut and still scrambling for a dress. DC is “formal but wear comfortable shoes”. The ceremony/cocktail hour is outdoors and the reception is in a heated tent. I don’t wear formal EVER so I don’t want to spend a ton on a dress I won’t wear again. I think this one fits but not positive. Could I dress it up with jewelry? If so, would silver be okay since I don’t own any gold? I’d be willing to buy some gold if that would make it a lot better. Also attached is a description of “formal” that was approved by the bride. I’m also shorter than the model so the dress does come down to the tops of my feet instead of above the ankle.

I’m a bit shorter than the model so it is nearly floor-length on me, but this is what I purchased before I found out the wedding (in a few days!) is actually cocktail attire.

So my boyfriend's sister's wedding is next weekend (October 23) and I am still struggling to find a dress. The dress code on the invitation is cocktail/semi-formal, no black allowed, and the wedding will be at a park with a reception at a local brewery.
What I'm struggling with the most is that my boyfriend is a groomsman in the wedding and will be wearing a $600 suit. I don't anticipate being in the photos or anything, so I'm less concerned about that, but more that I want to fit the dress code without looking like a total schlub next to my boyfriend.
I have already ordered 5 different dresses and cannot seem to find any that I actually feel good in. I'm quite short and carry a lot of weight in my tummy, and am trying everything in my power not to have people ask if I'm pregnant.
Does anyone have good examples (or links, even) to dresses that fit this dress code? His suit is brown, the wedding party will be in burnt orange, and I cannot wear black.

I’m going to a wedding here soon and the website says semi formal but all the examples are formal dresses. I bought a dress already but now i’m second guessing myself. The first picture is the dress i bought and the second is the outfit inspo on the website. pls help🥲

I rented a dress for a black tie wedding but I’m realizing that it is a little short on me (would make my shoes fully visible) - is that inappropriate for black tie?
