Hello! Asking for advice to find appropriate attire for my older sister’s wedding in September 2027. I mention it’s her second wedding because the above is what I wore to her first wedding and when I asked what the dress code is she said “Don’t dress like a whore.” Hmm… this feels personal. the above is what I wore to her first wedding. In my defense, she approved it at the time. I think she was more embarrassed because relatives kept commenting on how short my dress was, but I was 20 and thought I was her. Like I was the moment, so I didn’t care. And her wedding felt less like a wedding and more like a party— I mean there were jell-o shots for goodness sake and I was at least dressed up half the people were wearing flannel and jeans. I’m now 24 and have seen the error of my ways. Alas, tell me what is appropriate.
Her wedding colors are sage and a neutral? I do have to get anything pre approved, but I’m looking for some advice. It’s also a gay wedding if that matters. (Pride themed attire is apparently off the table). :)

I’m not said mother of the bride, but she wanted my opinion of this dress. The wedding will be in Hawaii. I don’t realllly think it’s too white, and I truly don’t think the color choice is malevolent toward her daughter. Just wanted to see what the general sentiment was.

Attending my boyfriends sisters wedding and I’m never good at picking outfits to wear for weddings. Can you tell me if this is appropriate and if it is within the guidelines?

I’m going to a wedding in about 2.5 weeks in Connecticut and still scrambling for a dress. DC is “formal but wear comfortable shoes”. The ceremony/cocktail hour is outdoors and the reception is in a heated tent. I don’t wear formal EVER so I don’t want to spend a ton on a dress I won’t wear again. I think this one fits but not positive. Could I dress it up with jewelry? If so, would silver be okay since I don’t own any gold? I’d be willing to buy some gold if that would make it a lot better. Also attached is a description of “formal” that was approved by the bride. I’m also shorter than the model so the dress does come down to the tops of my feet instead of above the ankle.

Does this dress look formal enough for a wedding in November at an upscale winery? Or does it look semi-formal/dressy casual? 🤔
this is the 3rd dress I’ve considered for this wedding. The first dress was too black-tie & the 2nd dress was too beachy/summery, according to this sub… to me, this feels like a happy middle.
TIA.

I’m currently having a hard time finding a dress in the colour theme they want and this was one of the dresses i saw that i thought was kinda cute but then idk if it’ll seem like a wedding dress too 💀
The acceptable colours are Mauve, Lavender, Teal

My sister is the bride and she likes the dress but wanted to see what other people think, particularly other those of other ages and generations.
Wedding is in April, dress code will most likely be semi-formal to cocktail. I love the details and the fit. I do wish it was a little less low cut.

Attending a wedding in Monterey, Ca the week after New years, the dress code is cocktail and the ceremony will be outside (not on the beach though). I’m planning on bringing a matching velvet wrap but I’d really rather keep my legs covered. Do you think this is too long/formal or would it be okay for winter cocktail?

Or perhaps too old? 36f, outdoor wedding so I wanted something in case it’s cold. Plan to wear gold accessories. I also have another option just in case, but I don’t love the neckline. Thanks!
Edit: thank you all for the advice! The wedding is this weekend & I leave tomorrow so no time to get anything else. But it seems my other option makes more sense! Appreciate all of your comments.

I might be overthinking this... I'm going to a semi-formal wedding, and I will be wearing a sleeveless dress with a pretty shawl. I was thinking about bringing a longline cardigan to wear during the meal in case I get cold, because it would be less fussy to deal with than a shawl. I have either a black one or a metallic gold thread-beige one, but neither are particularly dressy. Would this ruin the pictures? Should I just keep the shawl on?

My brother is getting married in May 2027 in Milan Italy. I’m 5’2 and size 16. Which of these dresses will likely look best on me ?

I have a wedding to go to this weekend and the attire request is cocktail. Is this dress cute? Or is it trashy? 😭 I’m 13 months PP from a C section so I’m wearing shape wear lol. I got it from ASOS and it is genuinely the tightest thing I have ever wore. I would be wearing it with white heels and my hair up.

I was asked to be a plus one to a wedding within a week from the event. All I know about the dress code is they asked for western formal. I’m not someone who has a lot of western items in their closet so I went and did some last minute shopping today. Will this be appropriate? I also have a black suede hat I’ll be using.
If anyone can give some suggestions / feedback, I’d really appreciate it. The wedding is in two days!

Is this dress okay for a cocktail attire wedding in Charleston, SC this weekend? Planning to dress it up with heels, clutch, and earrings and will likely wear hair up!

Would really appreciate some help choosing between these options! I haven't been to a black-tie wedding in quite a while, and honestly, I haven't attended many weddings in the US (I'm originally from another country), so I'm a little unsure about the dress code and what's considered appropriate.
The wedding website says the dress code is formal evening attire, meaning suits or tuxes for men and formal dresses or gowns for women and "we can't wait to see everyone dressed to the nines as we celebrate!"
Would you interpret this as black tie, black-tie optional or just formal? And with that in mind, which of these dresses would you pick?
Would love some opinions! Thank you 🤗
First 3 are from Reformation and the last one is Lulu's!

My husband and I are attending a black tie-optional wedding next month. He had this suit made for our own wedding last year that style-wise I think is appropriate, but I don’t know if the color is dark enough to be proper. I also know the bridesmaids are wearing green but I don’t know what color the groomsmen are wearing, though I would imagine they are wearing tuxedos if the dress code is black tie optional? What is the verdict, is this appropriate or do we need to go shopping for a suit in a darker (and different) color?

I’m going to a formal/black tie optional wedding in Monterrey, dress code says sophisticated dresses or pantsuits. I bought this dress, is it too formal? Also I need to get heels and possibly a wrap or layer. I’m not sure what color or style would look good. Any advice would be appreciated!

I have a wedding coming up at the end of November in Milwaukee at the botanical gardens facilities. Dress code is black tie. I have recently lost about 50 pounds and need to buy a dress- preferably something with some arm coverage. Would either of these be appropriate?

PLEASE HELP!! I don't attend super fancy weddings very often, and am struggling with black tie event attire. The bride specifically requested bright summery colors. Technically she described the dress code as "colorful black tie." As i have discussed with her, she said she is okay with a slit, and cares more about it being a fun and unique dress that is floor length.
Is this dress appropriate? I'm pretty short so it will definitely be floor length on me based on the measurements of the dress. Thanks in advance!!

Hi everyone! I’m attending my first wedding as a guest (only been to one and I was the maid of honor). The dress code is semi formal/cocktail for a November wedding. The ceremony is outside weather permitting so I’m concerned about getting cold. I had a dress picked then realized the ceremony could be outside so my option went out the window.
I like all of these dresses but I’m so paranoid about being under or over dressed. Any opinions would be super helpful! 😊
