For real though CNN is worse than fox news and conservative media. Fox news largely preaches to the converted. CNN makes it seem like there are two sides each with equally valid points.

don’t you want to hear both sides? Isn’t it best to hear both sides and then make up your own mind?

First there aren’t always two sides to any issue. Sometimes there are ten. Sometimes there is one. So CNN often presents a false dichotemy. And in doing so lends legitimacy to viewpoints that don’t actually help you make the best decision.
Second I don’t need to see two people debate long settled issues. For instance, When you have a vaccine skeptic and a medical doctor on opposite sides of the table, then its just some person sharing conspiracy theories they pulled out of their ass against long standing medical science. What benefit does that provide? It just gives voice to the vaccine skeptic, who has nothing of merit or substance to contribute.
Third, many commentators (typically conservative commentators) go on CNN and frequently straight up lie. CNN continues to let people lie on their platform because it makes for better TV. They do not check them on it nearly enough and they’ll platform the liars again and again and again. So how can you “make up your mind.” When you’re typically being lied to and CNN lends legitimacy to liars repeatedly?
CNN isn’t the only outlet guilty of this but its frequently a bad actor.

And then at the same time CNN somehow also does just.. fox news level of bias. Thinking of that time a bunch of trains got derailed in different parts of the country, fox news acted pissy at Biden for not visiting the sights of the accidents (HOW WOULD THAT HELP) and CNN blamed Trump, who was both not in office and who's policies did not effect railway workers all that much. This was after Biden shut down those railway protests.
You can go after trump, but do it for the things he's actually done, there are thousands of critiques you could level at him from his casino days to this very hour.
I don't trust fox news or CNN without seeing what they are talking about first on video, or with other sights backing it.

This is why I love Abby Phillip’s panel. She sits alone, with two people to the left of her, and three people to the right. Her CNN panel allows for debate and I can see what the opposition is thinking. I’m not MAGA. I’m not centrist. I voted for Kamala and I’m intelligent enough and grounded enough in my beliefs to enjoy the discourse.
I feel sorry for people who can’t stay grounded in their own beliefs.

There are not "both sides" to a debate when one side wants people to have health care, and the other side wants everyone who is in rich, white and straight enslaved/killed.
Get that boot out of your mouth and pick up a book.

This is why America has been slipping into fascism for over a decade. People saying “both sides” when only one side and the “centrist” opinion are the only ones presented. There is never any both sides argument, it’s fascists and the people trying to make it seem like it’s not fascism.

Hello everyone!
Hope your week is going great! Got a rare political comic for your bonus comic this week and I do hope you enjoy.
Stop in Friday for a new comic "Puppy Love" and another mid-week bonus comic next week, "Second Coming". After that, a couple spooky (kinda) Halloween ones!
Thanks for reading!

Of course. Just like the democratic Republic of North Korea is obviously democratic and good. Anyone claiming to be anti fascist can't possibly be violent and bad. We've declared ourselves as the "Good Guys" and they are the "Bad Guys". Therefore anything we do is morally justified.

You can side with the racists murdering in cold blood and being covered from the state if you want. But do not cry about consequences if you act upon it like they do.

Glad we're both opposed to the Nazi's that the democrats are trying to get elected.

I’m against ICE but that doesn’t mean I support people burning cars and buildings down. This is also strange considering some of these people doing the burning think thieves and murderers are treated too harshly.
Like damn just keep that same energy for the violent criminals please

We have a whole thing about how that system is completely fucked too bud. Retributive Justice just makes the problem worse. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rehabilitation_(penology)

So what do you think should happen to someone who gets busted trying to steal a catalytic converter? Just therapy and visits from a social worker?
Alternatively, what should happen to someone who shoots the thief to defend their property? In a world where crime isn't taken seriously, people will take defending their families, homes, cars and workplaces into their own hands.

You're the one not taking crime seriously if you did you would agree with me. Rehabilitative Justice is provably the best way to deal with crime that we have available today. Norway uses this system and because of it they have the lowest recidivism rates in the world.
That system still incarcerates criminal but the goal is to improve the criminal instead of mindlessly punishing them.
As to your two examples I think a person stealing cats is doing so as a product of desperation. That desperation stems from not having access to help whether that be education, drug rehab, or therapy. Second I think a thief not posing physical threat to a person doesn't deserve to die. That's a waste of a life that could have been redeemed. Obviously when threat of violence is clear and present is a different thing entirely. But I extend that belief to no knock raids and plain clothes cops/ice running at your car with guns drawn.

I'm skeptical that something like that could be implemented in the US at scale. The three states with the highest per-vehicle rate of catalytic converter theft are New York, New Jersey and Delaware. Those are all fairly progressive states.
The reason thefts are up in these states, and California, is because the law is barely enforced.
Recidivism rates don't tell the whole story when the law isn't even being enforced well enough in the first place. I care more about STOPPING the actual crime than what we do with the criminals - as long as their constitutional rights and due process rights are respected. There is no right to not be incarcerated though. If the crime rate lowers, then and only then will I be open to more efforts towards rehabilitation. And thankfully it is lowering in the long term, but there are still short term spikes and areas where the crime is still hugely problematic. I don't feel bad for carjackers and arsonists getting what they deserve.

Low effort strawman crap.

Hitler isn't even saying anything and yet you think he's a strawman of you... Curious

u/Key-Organization3158 16h ago
They never said it was a strawman of them. Just that you are being lazy.
-2
u/Accipiter__Nisus 18h ago
Well it is a strawman. "Everyone who opposes this thing must be Hitler."
Also, oh yes, "the media are biased and obviously lying about everything obviously." Show me on the doll where Worzel Gummidge touched you.

You project like an IMAX cinema.

u/stormy2587 16h ago
So someone accused you projecting and your response was basically to accuse them of projecting about projecting?
Lol you’re basically just saying “I know you are but what am I.” What are you 10 years old?

It’s 2026 dude. The main Republican Party is doing Hitler salutes now. Trump had a court case where he admitted he kept mein kampf on his nightstand. Half of their speeches are barely changed from famous Nazi speeches. They are cheering on their new concentration camps. What do you want me to call them other than Nazis. Just because they haven’t hit their 6 million goal yet doesn’t mean we can’t call them out. Also a lot of their supporters do call themselves Nazis.
