The most upsetting game of "My dad can beat up your dad" I've seen this far.

89

u/cupholdery Apr 09 '26

I'm curious on how dad went from being a thug to no longer a thug.

87

u/TheAbberantOne Apr 09 '26

He didn't. Went from being a grunt soldier to a general

40

u/Se7enworlds Apr 09 '26

I'm not sure that he did

26

u/lord_james Apr 09 '26

He was beating up somebody who is clearly indicated to be gender non-binary. Her dad went from being a brown shirt fascist to a corporate shill fascist.

19

u/downwardwanderer Apr 10 '26

You sure that's not an anchor tattoo?

8

u/lord_james Apr 10 '26

I think bald person with prominent breasts is also part of it.

11

u/downwardwanderer Apr 10 '26

Hey I'm a dude and I've got moobs. It is what it is.

1

u/Isnottobeeaten Apr 11 '26

I'm thought it was an anchor before I went and had a closer look.

World "suka" suggested that this is Russia (or Ukraine). It seems as well as he joined army?

So you have a though guy, that start fights, and is in the army. A russian army. Not sure if he changed.

To be completely honest, trauma is the only scapegoat that makes the comic relatable.

Otherwise we would simply hate the character,or bring back the dolphin, that one was actually funny.

u/B4dLuckL4mer Apr 09 '26

As old and wise saying goes "мусора - не люди". For non-russian speaking folk this basically means "cops are not humans" but with special word for cops used in post-soviet space what also means trash.

u/archiotterpup Apr 09 '26

We just say ACAB, all cops are bastards.

32

u/B4dLuckL4mer Apr 10 '26

I think ACAB as saying is pretty much an international thing. You can probably stumble upon such graffitis in every major city on the planet.

Can confirm a lot of new ones appeared here in Jakarta during the August 2025 protests. Even the expanded form in full English.

In French we say « mort aux vaches » (dead to cows. Cows being the cops)

It also can be expressed as a tatoo (3 dots on the hand)

1

u/B4dLuckL4mer May 02 '26

Cows seems a little bizarre choise of animal, lol

2

u/Ok_Investment_6408 May 02 '26

It’s because cows’s habit to give hoof’s kicks. And back at the time police enjoyed kicking people on the ground.

Cops are also called « chicken ». Because the Parisian police quarter had been built on a former chicken market

Everybody's favorite "I act slutty in porn comics cause I handle emotional trauma in an unhealthy manner" artist is back with another banger

39

u/semifraki Apr 09 '26

Right? Is that all this strip does?

I feel the “it’s so repetitive” criticism is unfair since that’s a pretty normal feature of comic strips. I feel like without the sexy part the complaints would stop, so it’s more like people hate having a sad and a sexy topic combined and then just look for a reason to justify that dislike.

If anything I would have guessed readers would have criticized the handful of “Alina does a kinky rebellious thing, turns out in the past her father did something similar” because they imply people who do a lot of sexy things do them due to childhood trauma rather than because they like it.

But it could also just be a punchline with a flipped situation. Or a deeper mocking society for criticizing an adult Alina choosing to dress sexily but quietly allowing a grown man to subject his child to what he did, even blaming child Alina as if she was supposed to be a mother or the responsible adult in that situation.

I’m going to ace my English essay!

Thats actually not even my criticism of this comic tbh with you

My criticism is you have this comic, thats framed as this "sexy, independent; coy woman" who goes about her daily life acting sexy and/or actually performing acts for random men in the town. And you can buy the patreon where you see her act ultra spicy "wink wink"

So, thats fine. She doesn't need any backstory. She can just be an independent woman who enjoys the male gaze and doesn't want a monogamous relationship.

Thats totally cool.

But then...

We get backstory. That totally changes the dynamic.

NOW we see that the entire reason she's been behaving this way from the start is that she had a traumatic childhood due to her alcoholic father.

And multiple comics we have seen direct allusions to an awful memory of her father being a poor role model and awful person, then quick cut to her acting out using her body as direct revenge against her father...

At first it was just 1 backstory comic. But now theres been several, that prove that oh, no-no-no.... She only commits these sex acts because in her mind she's always trying to "get revenge" on her father (even in comics he's clearly not in). And when she's using her body to get attention from random men in the city its to make up for the attention she never received from her father as a child....

So.... OP wants you to buy their patreon of a character that's a broken child in a woman's body who only does the sexy things you're paying to see on patreon because her father never gave her the attention she craved and harmed her mentally and emotionally.....

To me that's pretty fucked up...

Its like asking "Who's interested in seeing this character act out her childhood emotional trauma in an unhealthy manner by being a total slut instead of getting therapy? 😝"

I absolutely could not care about repetition. Its just weird as hell. But a lot of commenters paint it as her "taking control" over her life. Whenever it is textbook acting out to trauma and she should be seeing a psychiatrist instead of blowing random men to get back at her dad...

Also, it reinforces a bad stereotype people already have. Now some readers could read it and get "Yep. Of course she acts like a slut cause she didn't have a proper father figure. I knew that all along!"

Oh I never thought about the Patreon. You are so right. I thought the author just subconsciously looked down on Alina or women doing sexy things and saw them as “they only do this because they have issues”. But the Patreon making it so that viewers are supposed to find the idea of a tragic backstory sexy is kinda crazy cruel

9

u/whitestguyuknow Apr 10 '26

Yeah, so I'm really confused. Does this creator have a kink for emotionally broken women that have daddy issues?... Do they think this way? That women just act promiscuously because of broken homes? Do they enjoy perpetuating that stereotype through this comic?

I mean, clearly the people that enjoy the comic enough to pay for the patreon to keep the project going are fully aware that it's of an emotionally damaged character yet, thats what they want... And they want to see "more" of that broken character than any of us see on Reddit...

So, that makes me really question who these types of subscribers are. Even though I'd want to see an artist make it off their art, ya know?

The most optimistic take I could have of this is that the character IS OP... They lived it.. But I still feel like this would be going about this trauma in a poor avenue. Since, again, it perpetuates the stereotype... And again... You're feeding the desires of people who enjoy watching this broken hearted character get all slutty for their enjoyment...

It literally reminds me of the ending of Requim For A Dream... Sure the female characters are getting paid. But its to perform something that's traumatic for them

-4

u/Zancibar Apr 10 '26

I mean. . . Acting slutty is probably among the healthiest ways to handle emotional trauma these days. With the kind of drugs available, and with AI and addictive algorithms. . .

16

u/Viva_Necro Apr 10 '26

Ooooh, so it's not daddy issues, it's DADDY issues.

6

u/mr_bluemouse Apr 10 '26

The teach telling a little girl to keep her dad under control while he is beating up another man might be the most messed up part.

A representation of a messed up family that tries to be fun but ultimately is just plain depressing.

20

u/ITookTrinkets Apr 10 '26

I don’t know how these two panels are linked

8

u/Swarm_of_Rats Apr 10 '26

I'm also terribly confused.

0

u/Still-Bar-7631 Apr 10 '26

Father is a piece of shit.

3

u/ITookTrinkets Apr 10 '26

But what does that have to do with the first panel?

8

u/AsterTales Apr 10 '26

He ruined open lessons in school for her, and she's ruining kids' visits at his work.

3

u/Still-Bar-7631 Apr 10 '26 edited Apr 10 '26

His dad is on the first pannel too.

6

u/Jaded_Tortoise_869 Apr 10 '26

Compared to what I've seen, she's dressed more appropriately than usual.

5

u/Uplink_YT Apr 09 '26

Wait..which ones the dad, green shirt or white shirt?

6

u/Jezzibell Apr 09 '26

green shirt

2

u/Danson_the_47th Apr 10 '26

Yall folks wanted less horny. Here’s what you get

3

u/StagnantSweater21 Apr 10 '26

Man, I want NO horny in my comics

Every single post is horny to some degree, I’m so over it. Treat women like normal humans for once and stop sexualizing them every opportunity lmao

1

u/Danson_the_47th Apr 10 '26

Several of these artists are women themselves, white knight

1

u/StagnantSweater21 Apr 10 '26

How is that relevant to what I said at all

0

u/thehobbyqueer Apr 14 '26

Well clearly you're only complaining because you thought the author was male, because as we all know, only men can sexualize women.

1

u/GrigorMorte Apr 10 '26

The first panel feels unreal, weird, not happened. But the second? Ohh I've seen that so many times in so many places.

1

u/leavethisearth Apr 10 '26

Maybe you should go to therapy instead of drawing comics

2

u/Many_Jaguar9493 Apr 11 '26

Drawing comics is a type a therapy.

Are you offering therapy just to turn people into NPCs so you'd feel comfortable or out of the goodness of your heart?

1

u/leavethisearth Apr 11 '26

I‘m genuinely concerned. And yes, I see how the cartoon itself can be a form of therapy, but nothing beats talking to a professional.

1

u/Many_Jaguar9493 Apr 11 '26

I highly doubt they could since the author is probably from Russia. Their system is corrupt so mental health services are probably not helpful.

1

u/freaky_meister Apr 12 '26

“Fine! What’s seventeen more years!”
