Hi, im an international student first year at laurier. Im looking for a winter jacket ( something like canada goose, moose knuckle or similar reputation brands ).
When do i buy the winter jacket? Im looking for any sale or discounts. I know black Friday is next month, can i get any decent ones then? Or should i just buy one at full price?

The region has concluded the test phase of a sidestream water treatment project at the Mannheim Water Treatment Plant that will deliver enough new water capacity to support most of the projected residential growth in Waterloo region through 2031...

Hello,
I was wondering where I can find something Harry Potter related to gift someone (mugs, wallets, small bag, accessories). The recipient of said gift is someone in her late 20s.
Some alternative gift ideas, if you know if any local shops please let me know!
- embroidery tools (she has a kit but what else might she be interested in? Some unique looking scissors maybe?)
- she's into reading so maybe some custom reading accessories (bookmarks, cute reading light)
Thanks!

Holy God I went out grocery shopping after about 9 months and holy shit these prices are absolutely nuts. A stick of butter is 8 dollars. 8 freaking dollars. Bananas are like 3 dollars a dozen, God lord.
I'm not sure how families with children are serving if they aren't making over 120k/year. My god this is Robbery in daylight.
Sorry for the rant but just had to get it out. And any tips for buying cheaper groceries are welcomed.

There's like 4 types of traffic all going through the intersection (walking, bikes / ebikes, cars and ION) across a tiny intersection with just 1 stop sign (not a 4 way stop) to manage the traffic.
The area is super busy, so many accidents almost happen here just due to all the different speeds of traffic trying to go through this small area.
Stresses me out as both a driver and pedestrian.

Found a local Halo 3 LAN running November 28th, it is teams of 4 and I know maybe one person who plays Halo (or plays it well atleast). Anyone here interested in teaming up and going for the cup?

At the very last minute, the Lincoln Heights Neighbourhood Group, VisionWR and waterlooregionvotes.org is organizing an all-candidates meeting for next week: Wednesday, October 21 at the Lincoln Road Chapel, 145 Lincoln Road, Waterloo.
Four of the five candidates have confirmed their attendance, and the fifth will be unable to attend.
Doors open at 6pm. The event starts at 6:30pm. After the formal questions there will be a meet-and-greet from 8:30pm-9:00pm.
All questions for the candidates will come from the audience.
All residents in Waterloo Ward 5 are welcome, and we mean that. We especially would like to get the word out to renters, students in the ward, New Canadians, and members of other groups who are vastly underrepresented in municipal politics.
There will be no livestream (sorry) but we will be recording the meeting and posting it online afterwards.
(Apologies for the multiple reposts and deletes. The last poster contained significant errors -- we misspelled a candidate's name, and got the ending time of the event wrong.)

I was born and raised in Montreal, and I’m thinking about moving to Waterloo to look for a job in tech (network/systems administration), since finding those in MTL has become dire, even if you can speak both French and English at a native level.
Obviously I don’t wanna be one of those people that gentrifies the hell out of a nice place, I couldn’t afford it even if I wanted to lol, but there’s more to life than just work and tbh, Montreal spoils its inhabitants with so much cultural offerings everywhere you look.
So, if you come from Montreal, or even if you were born in Waterloo, what do you think about your city? Do you think it’s affordable for your situation? What about the job market? Not only in tech but in general, and also, is Waterloo a fun place to be? Are the people nice? Is it easy to make friends?
And how car-centric are you guys? Can I survive on a bike and public transit, I know how to drive but I hate the idea of owning a car.
If I’m gonna move out of my hometown, I’ll do my absolute best to integrate and be a nice, chill person to hang out with, who pays his taxes diligently and contributes to society. But it’s because of that reason that I wanna make sure wherever I move to is worth the effort.

I've not signed up for anything that should warrant this, not sure if my number was obtained through a leaked database or some other means but I find this very unbecoming of someone seeking mayorship in Waterloo. The only other instance of non-consenting texting I've received is from Doug Ford so it seems great company for her to be a part of /s

I feel like I constantly see horror stories on here about being on the One List for years, not finding the subsidized price care, etc. Does anyone have recent insight into finding childcare, where they were open to private home daycare and not necessarily looking for subsidized pricing? I'm trying to gauge if childcare is a total crapshoot we shouldn't plan on finding at all around KW, or if we will be okay if we budget for higher prices and delay going back to work until 18 months.

I'm a new student at Laurier university and I'm looking to get some touches in consistently in order to train for the team next year, but I didn't do intramurals and so now I'm looking for a place where I can play, I know there are some apps people use, so if anybody has any information on that aswell that would be great!
Thank you

Hey everyone!
I’m living in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and have fallen completely in love with Korean culture. I’m a huge fan of K-pop and K-dramas, but my interest goes way beyond that—I genuinely love learning about the traditions, food, and history, and I am currently trying to learn the language!
I’m hoping to connect with local people who share the same passions. Whether you’re a fellow fan who wants to chat about the latest music or dramas, or someone from the Korean community (whether you're a native speaker or Korean-Canadian) open to a casual language exchange and sharing cultural insights, I’d love to connect.
I'm also really interested in unique cultural intersections, so if there happen to be any other Muslim K-culture fans or Muslim Koreans in the area, I’d love to connect with you too!
Mainly just looking to find a cool, genuine group of people to grab coffee, study, or check out local Korean food spots with.
Drop a comment or send me a DM if you're local and want to connect!

Anyone who was on the special priority list for a 1 bedroom apartment last year know what the estimated wait time is like. I picked 15 buildings but 100 units in total is that enough for a shorter wait time, I wish I could add more but those are the only place I feel will be safer for me and my situation. Thank you for any insight.

Hello! I need to buy some spare parts for my Honda Civic, including bodywork and bumper covers, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to where I should purchase these? Doesn’t have to be local and can be ordered in (it’s not an old car), I just don’t know what stores folks would typically order these larger items from. For you folks that have replaced bodywork, where do you recommend? Thanks!

At 3 p.m. Tuesday, the recorded temperature in Waterloo region reached 26.8 C, beating the previous record of 26.5 C for the warmest Oct. 13 set in 2008... With humidity, it felt more like temperatures were in the low to mid 30 C range.

Hey everyone,
I am a vocalist (Punjabi/Hindi) and harmonium player based in the Kitchener, looking to connect with local musicians to form a collaborative jam group or band.
My primary focus is performing Punjabi and Hindi songs. The immediate goal is to get together for regular jams, build a solid setlist, and eventually take it live for weddings, restaurants, private parties, and local venue shows as a side project.
I am looking to connect with Guitarist, Keyboard / Synth Player and Drum Pad Player / Percussionist. Whether you have experience playing live or just want to jam out and see where things go, let's connect. Drop a comment or shoot me a DM with what you play and a bit about your musical background if you're interested!

I live and study in Waterloo and take transit for all of my medium and long distance trips. I use the Transit app and it shows Communauto cars on the map and it piqued my interest. Car share would be very useful for if I need to buy something from IKEA for example, so I’m wondering if anyone else uses this service.
If you use this service, what are your recommendations, tips and tricks, warnings, or other info about it?

Just curious if anyone here lives or has any reviews or feedback about these apartments?
A bit of mixed reviews online and Google. Would this place be good for a single professional? It looks decent enough but coming from a shitty place and don't wanna set up for failure
Or any Blaze run apartments really and how management is.
