I know it's already getting nerf, but so do other stuff. I'm just looking for some titan that can remain relevant fro f2p in a long run just like how pathfinder or dux are. Some support damage dealer . Is this worth it or should i still look for something else. I also have waymaker and bejorn
people complain about the shoggy and void weapons. Well im here to tell you there alot worse. Just did a champion match with shoggy and yes 4 Laraghi weapons. One shot delete and bot is gone three shots and say goodbye to your titan. Insane power
For some reason, this titan hasn't seem to have taken the servers by storm like previous hits have such as Princeps, Newton and Mauler. I was confused by this since mine seems completely unstoppable, easily taking on 2 or 3 damage dealer titans at once and emerging the victor, time and time again. All the answers came rushing to me at once as soon as I started paying attention to how others play and build their Siroccos. I hope this guide will get you the same level of success as I found.
Part 1: Weapons Loadout:
The best option by a long shot is easily the "native" weapons, Barq A+Barq Bs. They provide great sustained firepower with the added benifit of hitting multiple targets at the same time as well as some annoying stealth and invisible targets, while also applying stacks of slowdown to keep them from escaping too easily, effectively locking them in an unavoidable duel to the death with you.
I have also experimented with Venire+Vencires as well as Veyron+Evoras and while they have their advantage in terms of burst damage, that isn't neccessarily benificial with how the Sirocco ability mechanics work which we will dive into later on.
Part 2: Specializations:
I don't think you will be surprised to learn that the Brawler spec with Titan Repair Amplifier and Titan Anticontrol is the way to go. However there were some suggesting me to try the Defense Specialization path due to the nature of Sirocco's secondary ability (again, more on this later) but it was disapointing to say the least from my attempts.
I also prefer selecting the Singular Reactor from the base Specialization Path over Titan Armor Kit, since, as the pilot skills will skew heavily towards defense, you will find yourself lacking in firepower (fear not, you Sirocco will still spawn in with approximately 1.7M Hitpoints without that Armor Kit).
Additionally as alwaus, it is advised, if within your capabilities, to at least unlock the Attack and Defense paths completely as this will net you a gain of 12% in hitpoints and 12% in damage, which is not at all insignificant.
Part 3: Pilot & Pilot Skills:
As it always is these days with TItan Pilots, you will always want to go with the Renard Aurel. 15% Extra defense points and damage on the ending phase of Mirage, 10% extra net hitpoints and most importantly adding a 5 second EMP effect to the primary "Sandstorm" ability are indispensable.
Now that that's out of the way we get to pilot skills. It is important to note than people may have varying ideas on what is most important when it comes to titan skills, I have invested over 20,000 memorium into this Titan's pilot trying a multitude of combinations and I believe that I have found the perfect combination that will let your Sirocco do what I described in the intro. I will try to list them in order of importance below the image of the completed skills:
Deft Survivor (Secondary)
Stubborn Warrior
Cautious Pilot
Tough Guy
Defense Expert (Secondary)
Armor Expert
Mechanic
Titan Slayer
Destroyer (Primary)
Ferocious Guardian (Primary)
If you have troubles charging your titan with your first 1 or 2 bots usually, you can consider using TItan Master, additionally if you feel that closing the gap with your Mirage ability isn't always as easy as you wish, Engine Expert (Secondary) is also viable. Another top pick would be Defense Expert (Primary) for even more defense points. There are other decent skills that are okay to use if you want to be more economical with your Memorium such as Defense Expert (Primary), Road Hog and Master Gunsmith. Others fall below even this threshold and are less advised unless no other option is available. In any case the top 5 skills in the inital list are of UTMOST importance. Make sure you get those!
Part 4: Gameplay & Tips:
Let's start with the titan abilites and what they exactly do.
Sandstorm (Primary): Sirocco dealts true damage (bypasses defense points) in an approximate 150m area of affect surrounding it. Additionally it applies rust to enemies hit by it with a 90% effective heal block affect. Renard Aurel grants the additional 5 second EMP effect.
Mirage (Secondary): Upon activation, the Titan cleanses all negative effects and gains a massive speed boost for the duration it remains in the "Roamer" state. Upon leaving the Roamer state, either by expiration or manually deactivating it by pressing the ability for a second time, the titan gains Defense Mitigation Immunity for a short while. Now here's the kicker; The earlier you leave the Roamer state, the longer the duration of this Immunity.
This explains why we choose to use Defense Expert (Secondary) since you'll be facing a lot of Titans when you're in your titan, and they mostly ignore defense points unless you're currently Immune to Defense Mitigation which you are when you exit the Roamer state for a fairly long duration of time.
This titan excels in crowd control, it can quite easily completly quash a large enemy push on it's own, to the same measure, it's a formidable Spawn Raider and Spawn Camper. It will, and can take out multiple enemies at the same time or pick them off one by one if must. Learn how to position your Sirocco in a way that forces multiple enemies to take damage at the same time from it's Built In Weapon and Barqs.
Best practices you should learn when mastering abilities:
Always try to completely empty your weapon magazines before entering the Roamer state.
If you're in range of enemies and your weapons are reloaded, leave the Roamer state at once. The longer you have Defense Mitigation Immunity, the higher your chances of winning a particularly tough battle. Exceptions are when you are waiting out a powerful enemy ability such as Princeps' Nullfield and Mauler's Darklight.
Countering Princeps' Push: Always keep your eye out for enemy Princeps, these titans will do everything in their power to keep you as far away from them, and where applicable will attempt to yeet you off the map to end your party. Learn to get as close as possible to them while remaining behind cover, and then entering roamer state to close the gap. Once you are within touching distance, posisition yourself in a way that you're always back against an obstacle so the princeps can't push you far away.
Sandstorm Timing. Timing is everything with the relatively short EMP duration. You will always want to save it for the last possible second, whether that be right before the enemy gains an ability charge from Deft Survivor at 50% HP or to stop the regular cycle of abilities (prime example of this is to EMP enemy Siroccos right before they regain their Mirage ability to deal as much damage to them as possible during their lack of Defense Mitigation period).
Identify regular robots that are real threats before they get to you. This includes Harmattan, Iaraghu and even ARM builds. These builds to not care if you are immune to defense mitigation, they'll deal identical or near identical damage regardless. It's easy to get tunnel visioned on enemy Titans and then lose those fights because one of those builds ruin your day, sometimes you need to abandon your Titan duel and quickly eliminate those threats before returning to the Titan.
Post Script:
I hope you enjoyed this post and you found it informative, I hope to keep writing these up weekly or biweekly and add some off-meta or otherwise fun build deep dives. If you have enjoyed I'd appreciate an upvote and comment as this does take quite a bit of effort and research (I try to give many different combinations of pieces of the build a try before giving my verdict) and I'd like this to be pushed to as many people as possible so they too may take away something from this.
If you have any questions, complaints or other ideas, I'd be happy to adress them or try your suggestions to the best of my ability in the comments below.
Additionally, all my builds that I plan on posting here will be posted to the community wiki, if you want a clean simple overview of what choices and paths you should take. Here is my full Sirocco build for your pursual.
Have a great day/evening my fellow Pilots, and as always, keep battling!
Left after I collected all the dash bots, didnt have the time... and fell out of love with the game, came back this is 44 days in F2P... am I doing okay?
Hey everyone,
I recently came back to War Robots after about 2 years away, and I’ve been playing again for the past few weeks. I got pretty lucky with some chest and data pad openings and managed to get my hands on some of the current meta robots.
The thing is, I know how this game tends to work. New robots get released ridiculously overpowered, everyone invests in them, and then they eventually get nerfed into the ground and become a shadow of what they used to be.
Since I’ve been away for so long, I’m not really up to date with the current balance situation or Pixonic’s recent nerf/buff history. My question is: which of the current meta robots are actually worth investing in for the long term? Are there any that seem likely to remain viable even after future balance changes, or is it generally safer to avoid spending too many resources on newly released robots?
I don’t mind investing in something that’s strong, but I’d rather not dump months’ worth of resources into a robot that becomes useless after the next few updates.
For those who’ve been playing consistently, which robots would you personally invest in right now, and which ones would you avoid upgrading because they’re likely to get nerfed?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
since the reset ive been noticing huge chunks of my hp dissapearing, no visual effects, no sound effects, the bot just takes damage from seemingly nowhere, everytime its happened its been in a match with players who kill players unusually fast, I’ve seen regular damage cheats before but to never this, anyone else experience this or am i schizophrenic?
not sure if this matters but usually when you loose health you can see the health you lost recently is a dulled green color and ticks down, this doesnt happen and my hp +sheilds if i have one just ticks down by around 40%
Like holy sh* every game I play I see the new weapons and they rail me. 1m hp ammit one fucking taped. Tanky raptor build - no u don't have a chance also one tapped I can't wait for the nerf
At one point during the battle, I got stuck in a permanent phase-shift, which is why I was the only one who survived against those three hackers: two Anaksores, one with infinite abilities and overpowered healing, and another with infinite abilities plus invulnerability and a Hastatus with infinite abilities and boosted damage.
This game is crazy with the hackers, and nothing is being done about it.
A few seconds prior to recording there was an atlas who wanted my ass BAD (also props to the Bjorn for not going outside my range when I needed to fall back)
I was reviewing my Hastatus and checking to see what would be some decent options to add to it, since the bot don't really have anything for additional damage besides Master Gunsmith or Thrill Seeker I started to wonder. Hastatus has a speed of 59 KM, which isn't bad, but at that point, would Road Hog be even needed? going from 59 to 64 is not that much different, and if there were more options I would add them, but the thing is, what would be an acceptable speed?
My Rex has (in theory) 71 KM counting the additional speed he gets from his perks, so I am not even sure he would need Road hog to begin with, but just like with Hastatus, Rex doesn't have that many HP or damage perks, so I guess it could be added. However, even with about 70 KM I barely feel Rex shows that speed too much, sometimes it feels way slower, why is that?
