Skylight Books Event

Hey Y’all, just wanted to share with everyone the information I got from a phone call with Skylight books.

The person I talked to said that all ATFF copies have been claimed by preorder and none will be for sale at the event.

This is, of course, just one person I spoke to at Skylight. So there could be additional information I’m missing.

As someone going tonight I sure hope they find another box of them before I get there.

check your email... I just got one with more details about the event tonight and a ticketed signing line. Sounds like you need to purchase any one of his books from the bookstore to get in the first line to get books signed.

Oooh, that’s good information for those planning to attend! Especially since the event said you don’t need to RSVP so many may not even get the email.

Yeah, I already have ATFF so I just bought another book online and selected to pick up at the store.

It said they’ve had over 200 RSVPs and 40 chairs, so if you need to sit down get there about 6:15 . Whoever hasn’t RSVP’d might want to if it’s still open. Sounds like it’s going to be a full house!

Yeah, they have in-store readings all the time there. They just don’t have the space for much more seating, but plenty of aisles for standing and listening. Definitely don’t want to roll in at the last minute, though.

For sure! No shade to Skylight. I’ve been there for a Danielewski event and it was great. I mostly just feel for the workers. It’s so tough to run an event when way more people than expected show up.

They had a ton of them for the Sacramento event, but LA might be a different world.

I think they also had a ton sent to them, but people called in to reserve copies for tonight, and now all of the stock has been claimed

Oh I see. It's mildly amusing to see a Vollmann book in demand at launch :)!

I preordered in mf June so im glad they called me up to let me know my copy was in... Guy on the phone said there could be a FEW unclaimed orders that people may be able to buy. I'm fixin to get there at 6 so I can get a spot. No RSVP available but I guess having pre-ordered the book counts? Idk. Jus hoping to get to hear em speak.
