The ray tracing mods for the NFS Underground games makes them almost look like true remasters.
When modders have polished things up a bit, I feel like we don’t even need official remasters because it looks so good.
And the gameplay doesn’t need to be changed, because what Black Box created in terms of gameplay and handling was peak! Nothing have ever beat it since.
An official remaster would more likely just ruin things by trying to make the gameplay ”modern”. Introducing microtransactions (like someone else already said), messing up the handling of the cars, and adding unnecessary garbage that no one wants.
Probably because I got it first on 13th birthday and played it for practically 6months straight. I got the other games later and played them less in comparison. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.
