Help Veterinary Malpractice
Hello, I am a veterinary assistant and work in a community where two clinics are deeply rooted. The clinic I work at is pretty well maintained however, the neighboring clinic seems to be the opposite. I have met people who have worked there and many people who know and are friends with the people who have worked there and have heard despicable things. The main veterinarian is ancient and it is a mixed animal practice. It is considered an older “farm vet med” practice and also doubles as a shelter/pound for animals the local police department brings in. It has been hearsay that a recent (upteenth time) kick from a cow has inhibited his ability to function. He has always been a shaky man but lately worse. Due to this his surgical vet assistant has been PERFORMING surgical procedures under his guidance. They have also committed many wrongful euthanasias. I have requested MANY records on patients from this place and WHOLE SURGICAL PROCEDUREs are never documented or not included. No doctors notes, no medications, no vitals, no vaccination records. I have met distraught owners who complain of things having been done there that we have no proof of. None of their surgeries are sterile. A former employee there let me know she assisted many non-sterile surgeries such as limb amps. They do these dirty surgeries and just give everyone an antibiotic injection. Many illegal things have gone on under this roof. It seems the community and other vets are aware but will do nothing. I have emailed the state veterinarian. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
