Hi everyone,
My red Velotric ebike was stolen today morning at 2:14 AM 13th Oct 2026 in East Vancouver ,BC, Canada ( backyard of my house).
I attached the image of the bike and the theft.
It was registered in Apple find my of the seller of Ecloud ebike in downtown Vancouver but the store is closed today so I cannot access it. Hopefully the seller still has the account link
If anyone sees my bike, please contact me via this email thuphuongpy2004@gmail.com
The last location that it was seen is Joyce Collingwood- Renfrew area.
I came to Joyce Collingwood- Renfrew area to find my bike but no luck, I didn't see it. Thanks a lot

I only learned about this informal group ride event after it was called off at the Ferry. Does anyone know the reason? Also, whats the best way to get updates if I want to do this ride next time? There doesnt seem to be any announcement anywhere.

Haven't done much night riding the last few years but would like to get into it. How safe is riding PSP at night/in the dark? I know there's been a few occurences of women going missing or chased, if I remember correctly. I'm not a woman but skinny & short lol. I'd be riding solo but also open to suggestions for regular group rides that I could join.
Thanks!

My son is getting a nicer mountain bike and since this one is of substantial value I was wondering about trackers in case of theft. Does anyone have any recommendations? We are an android family rather than apple for context and it would need to be something we can hide on the bike. Please let me know.

Hello! I am looking for some advice about a shop in the Vancouver area that is good and reliable on full suspension bikes general tune up, I don’t need the suspension serviced, just the bike general tune up (wheels, drivetrain cleaning, brakes bleed, etc)
Let me know your preferred LBS for this job!
Thank you!

I'm trying to get the video to the mustached man in a white sweater and heltmet. If you recognize him please let him know I have video and I'd like to give it to him. Although I bet everything I own that the e-scooter teen gave him fake contact info. (More on why below.)
I initially thought that my camera didn't capture the accident and because I didn't witness the crash, I didn't stop. But on review I realized that the camera caught elements of the crash, such as the young person riding too fast on the sidewalk on an e-scooter (without a helmet to boot!) in a heavy traffic area.
This occured by Rupert Station Burnaby/East Van. She had the temerity to curse this man out for "BREAKING MY SHIT" (there was no visible damage to her e-scooter). His tire was totally bent.
He said that she wasn't supposed to be riding on the sidewalk. And her response was, at the top of her lungs: "SHUT THE F*CK UP!" She repeated this several times whenever the man tried to say something.
Horrific behavior. I regret not stopping now that I can see who was at fault.
EDIT:
Unfortunately VPD said that they do not handle these sorts of cases unless there was a criminal report that was made.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was watching this cheesy 80s movie, I noticed it had this nice high-res shot of the Lions Gate Bridge from 1987.
This is before they moved the sidewalk to the outside of the structure and widened the car lanes. If my memory is right it was in early 2000 when they upgraded the deck.
Can you imagine biking on the bridge when it was like this? 😰

Long shot here! I somehow did not secure my bike bag to my rack after an exhausting day at st Paul's. It fell off my bike unbeknownst to me (stupid stupid listening to earbuds) somewhere along my route: Helmcken to Richards to Nelson and over the cambie bridge and then 5th to Fraserish. It's got some important stuff in there. Posting a stock photo for reference. Thanks for reading!

The rust of autumn
sets in
as the years pass.
Leaves gathering
where wheels once carried
someone,
somewhere.
And still,
all this rust waits
to turn toward home.

A good look into the parties' platforms and past votes if you care about cycling and pedestrian safety!

Hastings-Sunrise residents have started a petition to keep the neighborhood traffic calming (while fixing the problem spots). These measures are pretty significant for the thousands of people riding Adanac and Ironworkers through the neighborhood every day.
Ken Sim and ABC are citing the older anti-barrier petition to justify removing barriers and increasing council control over street changes if re-elected. I’m concerned this could make future cycling and road safety improvements harder to deliver citywide.
General Alley shortcuts and drivers bypassing barriers need fixing, but those are problems that can be solved while keeping safer routes. If you live nearby or ride through the area, please sign and share:
Keep the calming. Fix the problems.

Thanks to random chance of nature or a guerrilla gardener who deposited wildflower seeds along pacific near the Grandville bridge, after biking up from Hastings going past them is refreshing.

Whistler is underrated for road cycling!
There are loads of good road riding routes IMO. Lived here 20 years as a road rider. Lots of good long climbing options. The hwy 99 connects them and has a mostly wide, smooth and regularly cycled shoulder… mostly. There are some crappy sections but they don’t last long.
Within the whistler municipality the hwy 99 shoulder is fantastic. To and from Squamish it’s also really good. Most of the way to Pemberton it is good but has a few crappy sections. The highway is regularly cycled both up and down between Squam and Pemberton. Anyone visiting in future can look me up if they want routes or a riding partner. Check my strava for ideas. My Elby S1 ebike was stolen from the Richmond oval bike locker on Monday September 7th at around 7am. A police report was filed but there’s been no updates unfortunately.
It was registered with project 529 and someone mentioned spotting a similar looking bike at the shelter on terminal ave, however it’s an enclosed shelter so it most likely won’t be easily seen.
Please keep an eye out, it’s a very distinctive looking bike. The charger required is also not common and cannot be purchased since Elby is out of business, so I’m hoping it’s just ditched somewhere or being sold as is. There is a velofix sticker, and an ice creamery sticker on the frame. Forgive the badly edited photo, had to remove someone. Dog kept in for good karma!

Thank you for putting up with me submitting bikeway obstruction / parking enforcement tickets, and sorry for always the run-around since by the time you see the ticket, those drivers blocking the bike lane are usually gone (after dropping off / picking up passengers, or after they see me take a picture).
Context: 2 more submissions today in the span of 5 min lol
Happy Tuesday and hope everyone has a good and safe commute/ride always

Two years ago, I posted here about my ride to Williams Lake for NDTR.
This year, I took a full week to do a 1500 km ride with three objectives:
In between (1) and (2), I had time to kill, so I visited Wells Gray Provincial Park, where I saw salmon jumping on the Clearwater River. That inspired me to spot the common theme: healthy rivers are vital to salmon, salmon are vital to indigenous culture, and I rode my bike with endurance like the salmon.
I hope you enjoy my ride report.
