Random vague question. A funny valiant book? 8-10yrs ago?

Ok so yeah that's a pretty vague question, but i stopped reading pretty much all comics routinely about 10-15yrs ago. Adulting and raising kids kinda took precedence... Anyway even though i wasnt reading routinely i still tried to keep up on what was going on. The events, crossovers, new books and characters etc.. Anyway i recall reading a review for a valiant book and it was just being praised for how humorous it was and one of the best books on the stands..etc...

I had always wanted to read and see the praise but i cannot recall what it was. I don't think it was the obvious Q&W, i honestly wanna say it was something unexpected like Rai... but i don't recall for sure. Anyway i thought this might be the place where a historian or two could help point me in the direction.

Also as i contemplate getting back into reading with the kids all in college now, I've been leaning towards Valiant as they always seemed a little more down to earth and less cosmic spandex on every page. Just uncertain of the current direction of everything...

Well thank you in advance, hopefully it's not too terrible of an ask.

It's gotta be either Quantum & Woody (most likely the 2013 run by Asmus, but possibly the 2017 run by Kibblesmith) or Archer & Armstrong (could be the 2012 Van Lente run or maybe even the 2016 Roberts run).

The only other possible comedic books I can think of are The Delinquents, Ivar: Timewalker, Faith, Generation Zero, or maybe Secret Weapons.

Just uncertain of the current direction of everything...

The current direction is a little bit of a mess... If you're into Shadowman, definitely check out AJ Ampadu's run (starting with Soul Eaters). Other than that, your best bet is going back to the 2012-2018 era, or even all the way back to the 90's. Pre-Unity is incredible.

I collected Faith for a while. It wasn't exactly funny. Unless I'm misremembering.

No, not really. I mean there are a few humorous scenes, but I was grasping at straws.

It could be Archer & Armstrong. In the 2012 Valiant comics it was a buddy comedy roadtrip superhero amalgam. Just an immortal Mesopotamian teaching life lessons to the son of televangelists.

Secret Weapons by Eric Heisserer maybe?

I remember it being quite funny.

LOVED that series. the one #0 issue with the girl who could talk to birds' origin story was fuckin' devastating though. in general the premise was pretty bleak, but the circumstance really comedic. alex kot/tradd moore "new world" series from image kinda like that too
