So, does that mean no more save scumming?

Guess I won't be interacting with it anymore until they adjust the success rate and/or refund all mats on failure.

Probably something like the chance is progressively calculated off your world seed or character ID. Which won’t change if you reload. Or the idols spawn with their chance… although I guess you could save scum that and have a box of known “bad” idols

It feels like it's security through obscurity tbh. They fixed something but they suspect it's still vulnerable so they won't release details. We won't find out till the moders and data miners figure out the change.

Really the question is what the seed to tied to; the world, the item, the character, the type of idol... There are work-arounds for each (except the item itself).
