Admissions planning to transfer to BAMS (t2) from another state university however, i awol on my second year of college with unresolved inc grades from 2022. will i still be able to enter the open university program of my choice?

• Upvotes

hello!! i had a family + financial issue that caused me to neglect my studies back in 2022. dahil sobrang gulo and depressed po ako before, hindi na din ako nakapag-apply for loa. diretso work na agad hanggang sa nababad na tuluyan sa workload and other issues pa for the next couple years. hays. :(( because of that, inc na po grades ko. they said doon sa state university na enrolled ako previously that i have one year to resolve my inc grades pero wala din, di ko na naayos back in 2023. di kasi nakakapag file ng leave on weekdays na kailangan na kailangan ko since di naman pinapayagan.

fast forward, now that i'm free and no longer in manila (gensan), i'm worried if this will make it incredibly difficult for me to get into BAMS or if it immediately means di na po ako qualified. chineck ko po kasi website and sabi for transferees from non-up shools, kailangan 2.00 ang gwa. without counting sana yung inc grades, pasok pa ako. but now i feel sad kasi mukhang hindi na po ako abot. sayang pa naman, feel ko kasi ready na po ako ulit mag focus para sa sarili ko without worrying about my parents and siblings.

are there other means pa po to get into UPOU'S BAMS? last shot na lang kasi sana since hindi rin daw nag aaccept ng transferees MSU-gensan. aligned po kasi sa gusto kong gawin yung BAMS.

thank you po in advance and sorry po sa mild vent.

Admissions mapapakain ba ako ng passion na to?

def not. haha

helloo po! im applying for MENRM and would love tips on writing the application essay from anyone who's already been admitted. im a fresh grad, but i also have 4 years (and counting) of environmental advocacy work, and this is something i really see myself investing my time and strength in, especially with the rising environmental crisis.

im stuck with my draft, though. it feels too personal and raw, even though it's not journal-like since i wrote it in a somewhat academic way. is that okay po, or should the tone be fully formal, with no personal touch at all?

also, if you got in, what do you think the program valued most in your essay, like your career goals, research direction, or fit with the program? thank you so much po!

HALLOWW!! I wanted to inquire regarding the upou dress code... I'm a female but i kind of want to wear pants rather than a skirt for the graduation... I think I can naman??? since I've seen others do it before

That said, is it okay kaya to wear off-white/ beige/ cream colored pants rather than a black one? Do we have someone in UPOU who we can ask this abt kaya? 🥹

Admissions Will my previous graduate school status affect my admission to UPOU’s MDC program?

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to apply for the Master of Development Communication (MDC) program at (UPOU), but I have some concerns about my previous graduate studies.

I previously enrolled in a master’s degree program at another university and attended for three semesters before discontinuing my studies. I never formally filed a Leave of Absence or processed any documents to withdraw, so I believe my status may technically be considered AWOL.

Regarding my grades, I haven’t checked my academic records with the registrar since I stopped attending. During my last semester, I remember being unable to submit my final outputs for some courses, so I’ve always assumed I might not have passed one or two subjects. However, I don’t actually know my official grades, and I have no confirmation that I received INC remarks or failed those courses.

Given these circumstances, would I still be eligible for admission to UPOU’s MDC program? Could my AWOL status or potentially unresolved academic deficiencies from my previous university affect my application, even though I’m applying to a different institution and program?

For anyone who has been in a similar situation or is familiar with UPOU’s graduate admission policies, I’d appreciate hearing about your experience.

Would you recommend contacting my previous university’s registrar first to clarify my academic standing, or should I inquire with UPOU about my eligibility before doing so?

I want to make sure I’m approaching this properly and avoid spending time, effort, and money preparing an application if my previous academic records could prevent me from being admitted.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Question UPOU Professional Teaching Certificate

Hi!

It's been like this ever since September 24, 2026 and, honestly, a bit worried kung may next step pa ba after this because as far as I recall (yes, "recall" because I can't seem to access the site dahil down), I will just have to wait and then they'll send me a DERM.

So, ask ko lang if this is normal or may na-overlook ako na step? 😵‍💫

Acads Still no grades for PE1 (3rd Trim)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Good day po!

I don't know if it's just me, pero I still haven't received any of my grades from PE 1 - Foundations of Physical Health from last semester (3rd Term), ni isang grade sa outputs din po wala.

At first I thought, siguro madedelay lang talaga since mejo last minute na din si Prof. nang magpagawa ng Finals (around 2nd week of September - during the enrollment period). Pero ayun, hanggang po ngayon wala paring grades and I am well into my 1st Trimester na (BAMS).

I have already sent dm's and emails to the professor regarding this in the past few weeks pero wala parin po kasing reply, and I don't really know what to do huhu.

Any advice po ba? Tysm!

Question Taking UPOU AA to credit the units for a bachelor degree after graduating

Hello! So I'm planning taking the UPOU AA for 2 years so I can save up money for college bachelor degree and interested on taking Bachelor of Science in Accountancy later on after graduating. However, I don't know if it's the right track? Because currently we are experiencing financial crisis and my mom is sick and need constant care at home, so I cannot attend consistently at a university as of now. But it is my dream to be a CPA one day. My school choices are:

LCUP - BSA-MBA: they have good professors that are really proficient in their subjects, but I am considering money since they have hidden fees.

BulSu BSA: There are limited shiftees or transferees.. i don't know if they accept an Associate degree graduate to enter accountancy program.

UPD BSBAA: Idk if I can ever get a chance to be there? but it is an honor to be given an opportunity.... But am still considering my distance from there since I'm from Malolos

In conclusion, I'm at lost of what I want to achieve or do... I guess there's a lot of hindrance such as money, location, and grades to achieve my dream and goal to be a CPA. I sincerely need an advice, I'm 19 now and idk huhu

Question Dream Program VS. UPOU dilemma

Hi! I’m currently an ALS student (Grade 11) and planning to take the UPCAT next year. Here are the reasons why I’m hesitant to try…

I stopped going to school for 5 years. I’ve forgotten the basics of the basics of almost every subject. I feel like the chance of me passing the UPCAT is very slim, considering I’ll be competing against students who were able to use their time fully for studying. I’m up against students na puro matatalino and nakalaan yung oras nila sa pag aaral, while I’m here trying to relearn everything from scratch.

Here’s a quick story about me:

I was a Science High School student. I completed up until Grade 9 lang dahil ito yung time na iniwan kami ng dad ko. I decided to complete my high school education through ALS (Alternative Learning System) para magkaron ako ng high school diploma and matanggap ako sa work (BPO).
After I finished high school through ALS, instead of continuing to Grade 11, nag stop ako nang matagal. Juggling both my studies and work life was too much for me, plus graveyard shift pa ako. Because of this, nauna na yung mga batchmates ko mag-graduate ng SHS. Most of them passed UP. I’m genuinely happy for them, but I can’t ignore the fact na nalulungkot ako because I fell behind and nanghihinayang ako. I should’ve graduated with them, and kasabay ko sana sila mag take ng UP entrance exam.

Honestly, nahihiya ako mag open up and sabihin sa kanila na Grade 11 pa rin ako ngayon (at this unc age 💀🙏). I try to dodge questions about sa “current program na tine-take ko” ngayon haha. Even if I started reviewing for the UPCAT right now, I feel like my chances of passing it are still very slim. Do I even have enough time to prepare for next year? :(

Another thing, I’m planning to choose UPOU dahil online siya.. I think it’s perfect for me because I’m working full-time and hindi ko kaya mag byahe papunta sa campus dahil dito. The programs in UPOU are not really for me though:(( I’m thinking of taking ASIT dahil related naman siya sa program na gusto ko. Pero afaik, UgAT ang dapat kong i take, not UPCAT. I’m not sure if it’s worth it dahil 2 years lang siya. But I need something that’s online because of work nga.

Maybe I should take the UPCAT for the experience… but at the same time, I don’t want to lose my chance. If ever pumasa man ako, problemahin ko naman kung paano ako magwo-work. Full-time dapat ang trabaho ko dahil ako yung nagsisilbing tatay sa amin, and ako rin ang gagastos sa college expenses ko if ever.

TL;DR

Should I take UgAT instead of UPCAT?
Should I take the UPCAT next year?
Should I take a 4-year program instead of taking an associate degree?
Should I even try?
