AeroThemePlasma with some modifications:

• Themed and renamed Konsole to resemble the Windows 7 command prompt
• Linux Explorer is a recreation of the Windows 7 Explorer as seen on the screenshot
• Installed a plymouth theme that resembles the Windows 7 startup animations
• Geckium + Aero UserChrome for Firefox
• Modified fastfetch config to resemble the output of a Windows 7 install

Be advised, many distributions have now replaced SDDM with PLM. Meaning that you need to reinstall it again in order to utilize AeroThemePlasma's SDDM theme.

Last week I posted a realtime flight through an endless procedural megacity as a Windows screensaver. A few of you asked for Linux, so here it is: a native build, no Wine.

What it is:

Street canyons, loops, barrel rolls, knife-edge along the facades, a climb through the storm clouds and a dive back down into the neon. Lightning strikes the towers and the glitches land on the beat.

Everything is generated at runtime: city, lights, flight path and music. No models, no samples. The soundtrack comes from a small softsynth running in real time.

Linux details:

- single ~320 KB x86-64 binary, tar.gz, no install, just ./flashview-city-flight
- X11/GLX, runs on Wayland via XWayland
- needs glibc 2.34+, libX11, libGL (OpenGL 4.5+)
- music through ALSA (works under PulseAudio/PipeWire); if libasound is missing it just runs silent
- no network access, no telemetry

Fly it yourself: grab the mouse and take the stick. Left/right turns at the next crossing, up climbs into a loop, down dives. Wheel = speed, R = rain, M = music, ESC = quit.

Tested on Linux Mint (Cinnamon, X11). Should run on any X11 or XWayland session.

On Linux it's a standalone demo for now, not yet an xscreensaver hack. That's next on the list.

It scales down well: smooth on an Intel N150 iGPU, and it looks great on a proper GPU.
