News We brought a Shahed drone to Warsaw to ask a bigger question: are sanctions keeping up with Russia?

Russia is ramping up weapons production and continues to use Western technology. Are sanctions keeping pace with Russia’s ability to adapt and produce weapons?

NAKO Executive Director Olena Tregub opened a discussion on sanctions against Russia at the Warsaw Security Forum 2026 with this question.

Russia is one of the most heavily sanctioned countries in the world. Yet it continues to obtain Western technology and use it to build deadly weapons. “This is not a technical matter. It is a matter of national survival for Ukraine and security for all of Europe,” says Olena.

Europe and the United States need to rethink their approach to sanctions. This means not only introducing new restrictions, but also improving export controls and enforcement of existing sanctions.

NAKO is a program partner of the Warsaw Security Forum 2026, one of the key international platforms for discussions on security, defence, sanctions policy, and support for Ukraine. The forum brings together government officials, representatives of international institutions, civil society, and experts from more than 90 countries.

Fuck Trump for his Diesel-Deal.

Fuck him for everything he has done - as long as sanctions are just on paper, but not really effective, because only Europe sanctions Russia effectively (also here are/were countries like Slovakia or Hungary, which still were using russian gas/petrol)...

That just a farce
