i lost my keys early in the morning, my fob, spiderman lego keychain, and my new baby blue pepper spray should be on them :( please please please help me find them

Be mindful about posting stuff to social media indicating you may be carrying items against student code of conduct on campus. Good luck finding stuff, I don't fault you one bit for having those tbh

thank you for the concern! i always take off my pepper spray when i'm on campus, my safety items are just for when i'm at work since i work in a shady area

Pepper spray is not against the student code of conduct-

‘Generally, possession of a firearm or other weapons and instruments (does not apply to pepper spray) is not permitted on campus.’ From the student code of conduct on weapons.

It’s common misinformation I’ve heard. Campus is open- it’s not necessarily safe.

I was not aware there was an exception for pepper spray, that is honestly good that it was implemented. However, per WAC 504-26-213 the taser would still be considered as not allowed under the student code of conduct/WA State law which UW must abide by as a federal institution.

*Edit: I will also note, while pepper spray is allowed, using it to brandish or otherwise intimidate/use of it outside of strictly self-defense could still constitute use of a weapon/instrumentation, there are a few protected uses of it which would be totally legal for intended purposes. I'm all for knowing the letter of the law, but also advocate for proactive steps to remain safe!
