Okay no worries, but here I'm not saying it explains all. For various reasons, it partially explains the issue of greater suicide rate in males. And if you want to know why I'm saying that, check out the other comments, you'll see the point of view. Also I'm answering a comment which blames feminism, my point is that feminism is not to blame, but patriarchy (as opposed to feminism) has more to do with those numbers comparatively. I'm not just saying blah blah bad patriarchy explains every problem in the world, blabla my hair is blue and I'm tattooed. I'm kind of talking about based shit. We can't forget that there is also capitalism, religion, cops, tech billionaires... There's more to blame than just patriarchy 🤗

I didn't say "you're contributing to a patr..." Oh man, read this : https://www.medboundtimes.com/medbound-blog/understanding-male-suicide-the-role-of-traditional-masculine-ideologies

Patriarchy is a construct, not an accusation. Stop taking it personally (as a man). It's not about individuals, it's about a toxic system.

Again (and again, and again) the "patriarchy" term doesn't blame men as individuals, it blames a system in which men and women are educated differently, which causes prejudice to both genders for a variety of reasons. It's a construct and it's referring to a reality.

I think you have some misconceptions about what the "left" tells you. Anyways, it's a concept, like racism, ableism, etc. I'm a white person and I know for a fact society's racist and I don't get offended when I'm being called out on it. It is a fact and I'm careful about the prejudice I can cause. I expect men to understand society is usually sexist and to stand up against this and to be careful not to overuse their privilege to dismiss what a woman can say or do. It's as simple as that, empathy and awareness, not shutting up.

Check this out and see for yourself, I'm not trying to be vague but to popularize a complex concept.

Women partake in patriarchal believes and practices, it's a whole system. Patriarchy is the main societal model across the world, as opposed to matriarchy. I don't know man, most of you people are just opening your mouth to play the victim card when we're calling out on patriarchy but you don't get a damn about it.

What I mean by patriarchy here is the set of implied rules that won't allow you to talk about feelings without being shamed for it, when your friends tell you to though it up and not to be a pussy, when you're learned to hit instead of talking, anger instead of sadness... Specifically what distinguishes a man from a woman through education and society. This is toxic and participate into men's hardship and I wish men could see it and fight it.

On Tuesday October 13 2026 in France, life will come to a halt. Nearly all labor, civil servant, and student unions have called for a general strike. Students are also expected to march toward the prime minister's residence on the same day. The slogan is: "Vive La Commune!"

When I talk about patriarchy I mean all the shame and stigma related to express your emotions as a man, to seek support when you're rock bottom, to be thought to though it up. Men are probably the biggest victims of it, alcoholism, drugs, anger issues, all related to some extent to the impossibility of expressing yourself and being taken seriously by your peers. Not the only cause, but sure a major cause.

They use more definitive means (guns, hanging, etc.). Old people are also better at dying than women. It's a humorous way to put it, sorry If it sounds offensive. Death os just the end of things, I don't like to be too serious about it, not because we're talking about men but in any circumstances. (I failed at commiting suicide myself, in case you think I'm talking too lightly about something I don't know)

Also : "hatred towards men" made me ask you what's Patriarchy, you didn't quite seem to get it but maybe you were referring to something else when you accused me of hating men ?
