HR professional offering help to small businesses and job seekers (Mod approved)
Good morning! I think we all know too well that with layoffs, hiring freezes, and a tough job market, a lot of people could use a little extra support right now. I've spent over 15 years in Human Resources, and while I'm currently looking for my next full-time HR leadership opportunity (local or remote), I'd love to help others where I can. I'd also appreciate any leads or connections!
For businesses: I can help with policies and procedures, employee relations, compliance, documentation, performance management, manager coaching, and identifying potential HR risks. This may be especially helpful for small businesses that don't have a dedicated HR professional.
For individuals: I know how discouraging it can feel to send out application after application and hear nothing back. I can help with résumé writing and reviews, interview preparation, and presenting your experience and accomplishments in a way that helps you stand out.
The first conversation is always free, and we can talk about rates from there. If you or someone you know could use some help, feel free to send me a message. I can share more about my background and references.
Thanks for being a great community!

Recommendations for alt hair stylist?
Specifically, I need help maintaining a side cut. The stylist I originally went to didn't really know what a side cut was, so I've been salvaging/maintaining the best I can on my own.
Looking for someone who can CUT, NOT JUST COLOR. I am not putting color on my hair. Thanks

Target is open
Just in case you didn’t want to wait until Saturday, Target did a Friends and Family soft open today and then decided to just… open for everyone. They are closing around the time I’m posting this, but are opening tomorrow at their normal time and from now on, and their app should start working tomorrow.
We just got back home from visiting and it’s busy, but not out of hand. Spacious store and we had no trouble getting around or checking out, though don’t expect a parking spot by the door. Yes, they do have a Starbucks inside.

Hachi Machi
We went to Hachi Machi tonight. The service was excellent - 10/10. I was actually shocked at how fast we received all our food and drinks.
The food was very good. I had the banh mi, and u/Negademus had a sous vide situation with steak and yams. All of it was delicious!

Good Stand Up Comedy this Saturday for free at Amsterdam with Dan Alten (me) on 15 night tour. I'm not famous but I promise it'll be a good time and if you don't have fun you can tie me to some train tracks or toss me in the river. Lemme know if theres anything cool to see.
Here's my bio, sorry it's in the third person: Dan Alten is a charming goofball from Kentucky who has been traveling the country for the past decade doing about 200 shows a year bringing his intelligently surreal bebop nonsense everywhere from theaters to punk basements to art galleries to beloved comedy clubs with a knack for making audiences feel like they're on a good psychedelic trip without the drugs. Like if the Ramones were one guy with a mustache and good jokes. Iggy Pop with puns. Clever chaos. Like Jimi Hendrix lighting fire to a Tik Tok reel live on stage. He has opened for Kyle Kinane, Bobcat, Sam Tallent, Rory Scovel, Sarah Sherman from SNL, Johnny Pemberton, Hari Kondabolu, rapper Open Mike Eagle, DJ Doug Pound & David Leibe Hart from Tim & Eric, various punk bands with silly names, and a guy at an open mic who tried to throw his father’s ashes into the crowd. He has recorded 2 albums, written a zine, and filmed a pilot for an Amazon Prime stand up show that was lost to history. But most importantly he’s very funny and unique. You will enjoy him. And if not you can mud wrestle him after the show.

Scammer in the Cracker Barrel parking lot (and likely the surrounding businesses)
He’s spinning a yarn that you can barely understand about his wife being in the hospital and how he needs gas money. If you don’t have cash he’ll beg you to get money out of an atm and if you offer to have him pull his car to the pump he suddenly doesn’t have a car in the area and he’s not even holding a gas can.
50ish year old black man, btw

This is a long shot but
Hey! So we were at Walmart tonight and when we got there we were honestly just trying to get parked at get in there. Once we parked we realize the person beside us was parked on or if not over the line that separates the parking spots. Anyways … i squeeze through and we make a quick run in and jump in the car. Mind you we parked around 8:35 according to Life360 so it’s late and dark. As we’re pulling out a lady is waving us down and jumps out of her car to tell us that the person we were parked beside was physically angry and slammed their car door into ours at least 6 times. But unfortunately the kind lady that helped us was accompanied by her husband that was screaming at her that she wasn’t an “investigator” and to “get the f*ck” in the car. My already upset fiance was unhappy with how he was speaking to her so started yelling back which then I directed him to leave. I honestly don’t even know what I’m asking. I’ve contacted the police and will be filing a police report tomorrow.
I guess what I’m asking is can anyone recognize this truck?
