0 Days Since... Fool me twice, I guess

Three more of our skeletons were stolen overnight, 2 Ring cameras managed to completely miss it. Bolder this time, as it happened around 11:40 pm. We wanted to believe that the first was just an isolated incident but clearly not so the surviving two have been taken down. Oh well 🤷‍♂️

Edit: one of the Ring still shots captures someone laying in the front yard but nothing useful. I posted it below. If nothing else let the be a useful lesson for people with Ring and Vivint and others: they are nice tools for awareness but the are NOT security systems and are exceedingly unlikely to provide any useful evidence in criminal cases. Earlier this year the front porch Ring completely missed a lady running over a guy in my front yard!

Edit 2: Fine mods, I'll post the update here:

Update to the Great Skeleton Caper

When our first skeleton was stolen a neighbor stopped by with video showing the same guy stealing his trash can. We'll just a moment ago the same neighbor stopped by again to let us know that the now-jerseyless QB is on display in a front yard not far from our house, still holding the football! Also on display are a variety of other decorations including a orange foam fake tombstone that was also stolen with the QB.

All that said, I'm really unsure what to do now. Direct confrontation risks escalation that may not be worth the hassle but involving police seems to pose even greater risk. You just never know how someone might react to being confronted and is it really worth it?

26y/o, looking to make some friends in Tulsa area to play and/or write music with. I have background in piano, drums, and guitar. My favorite genres are mainly pop/rock/indie/singer-songwriter, but I am open to anything. I work full-time, so just looking for something a few times a week. I have loved music since I was a kid and want to keep the flame alive. Send me a DM!

General What’s the best thing to do in this situation

First, I’m not looking for criticism or negative comments, I just really want to know what the best thing to do is. This morning I went to QuikTrip and driving there I saw I guy doing twirls on 71st. I just kind of drove past but then I saw him almost walk into the intersection. He backed up started praying. I went in the store and he was in the parking lot. He stopped me and several others with a story about his eye and he read the Bible and because he has an eye he is John. I listened to him and then noticed that he had no shoes and it was raining and his socks were soaking wet. Then he asked me if I had a medical marijuana card because he really needs some sativa. I assume this was a drug issue but I was kinda worried about him. I didn’t want to call the police because he’s probably going through a lot as it is. Is there someplace here that you can call that would just check on people like this? I just think he needs help

General Looking for a mid-2000's band call MidAmerica

I was handed a ripped CD of theirs in high school, and still listen to that lower quality rip to this day. I never saw them perform.

I believe they played at a concert in Pryor in 2005 (may have been a christian festival like event).

Proof they actually existed: they played at the Pinkeye in 2005: https://independentclauses.com/fun-to-watch-fun-to-hear/

Anyone familiar with them, and ideally get a hold of a CD?

Question Comics artists/creators in Tulsa?

Post image
• Upvotes

This might be a long shot, but I'm curious if there are any other comics artists or creators around here? Ive been thinking that it might be nice to meet up and draw and talk shop with some folks, but I haven't seen any indication of a comics scene around here.

Question Looking for bartender with an event license

Howdy everyone. I used to live in Oklahoma in the tulsa area but we moved to Illinois last year. We are returning to have a wedding. We scheduled our wedding last December. We just found out yesterday that in July the law changed and booze and beer cannot be served at all, without a bartender with an EVENT license. Our family friend was going to get the license when we told her. However the last class to get said license (she told us) was the day before yesterday. She was our lifesaver, she was going to be our bartender for $300 for 3 hours.

We've looked at a couple places our host of the event reccomended, and the cheapest was $650. Thats just not possible. My wife asked me to reach out to you all and see if anyone knows anyone with said license willing to work around our 300 range, in cash.

The wedding is November 14th, beer and wine, and 2 signature cocktails.
