Official TryHackMe Post Free 30-min live session: Tracing identity attacks in Azure & Microsoft 365 logs
We are running a free 30-minute lightning class on how identity attacks in Azure and Microsoft 365 actually show up in the logs.
It is for anyone who has seen an "account compromised" alert and wanted to understand the evidence behind it.
๐ When: Tuesday, October 27, 15:30 UTC
๐บ Where: Online
๐๏ธ Register (free): https://luma.com/tryhackme-9z36?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=lightning-azure-m365-identity
๐ค Instructor:
Somil Tyagi, MDR Analyst at Palo Alto Networks Unit 42. He has Fortune 100 security fusion center experience, focuses on incident response and cloud security, and has investigated APT-level compromises.
What we will cover:
- How identity attacks in Azure AD / Entra ID leave traces across authentication and workload logs
- How attackers abuse Teams, Exchange and SharePoint, and which log sources reveal it
- How to map raw telemetry fields back to attacker behaviour
- A preview of the full workshop: turning isolated alerts into a complete incident storyline
Who it is for:
SOC analysts, detection engineers, threat hunters and responders, or anyone curious about how attackers abuse Microsoft cloud services.
Requirements:
No Azure experience needed. If you can read a log and you know what a query is, you are good to go.

Official TryHackMe Post Introducing Live Breach
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Can your team respond to an attack theyโve never seen before? ๐
Youโll never know unless you drill.
Security teams told us that that they need more than tabletops and rigid legacy cyber ranges to prep for incidents. They wanted a true hands-on keys pressure-test: a choice of real threats, of real tooling, and real-time audit-ready performance intelligence. So we built it.
Introducing Live Breach.

Looking for a team for the TryHackMe Down Itโs Showtime! CTF
Hey everyone!
Iโm looking for a team to join for the upcoming Down Itโs Showtime! CTF on TryHackMe (October 22โ26).
This would be my first time participating in a CTF, so I donโt have much CTF experience yet. Honestly, Iโm not sure if my skills are good enough, but Iโd love to give it a try, learn from others, and contribute as much as I can.
My current cybersecurity background:
CompTIA Security+
Blue Team Level 1 (BTL1)
Microsoft SC-200
Iโm more familiar with the defensive side of cybersecurity, so Iโm hoping to gain some hands-on experience in a team environment, especially with SOC-related challenges.
If you have a spot for a beginner on your team, Iโd be happy to join! Iโm motivated to learn, collaborate, and have fun. ๐

Gap between lessons and challenges
I have taken some cyber-courses at university but I decided to start fresh on THM from the pre-security to cyber101 now, in order to land a PT job in the future. I have to tell the learning rooms are pretty easy and straight forward. On the other hand I had challenges recommended as GLA2 and Masquerade that I found extra hard based on what I learned through TMH. Should I be worried and take a slower pace or am I supposed to find them hard so I can make my own research. Does anybody have experienced something similar?

Room Help Is it normal to struggle this much while studying for the PT1? (e.g Fragnesia, NGINX Rift, and NoScope)
Is it normal to struggle this much while studying for the PT1?
I'm finding it hard to make consistent progress. I often have to reread the same material several times to understand it, and sometimes I still struggle to connect the concepts and move forward.
Topics like Fragnesia, NGINX Rift, and NoScope have been particularly challenging.
For those preparing for or who have already taken the PT1, did you struggle with this too? Any advice on how to study more effectively?

Room Help Massive gaps between lessons and tasks?
Anyone else feel like tryhackme has massive gaps between what they are teaching in a lesson and what the tasks expect you to know?
LIke I feel there is just massive missing gaps when its like oh we are working on telnet at this IP. Well HELLLOOOO shouldn't we have a part that goes over like doing that in the terminal? Or at least some sort of parts to prefix or youtube link. I have done Network+ and Security+ and just wanted to continue poking around and such as I have no formal training but fuck the lack of explination feels a little wild. To be a somewhat well known platform and to have such a wildly lackluster coheesive curriculum just feels weird to me. OR. I could just be a complete idiot always got to take that into consideration.

I made a customizable badge generator for GitHub and websites
Good morning!
I made a badge generator for TryHackMe in pixel style with some components I have worked on this year. The previous badge generator I used was a third party that stopped working long ago and I just never got around to fixing or updating it. This one updates autonomously with GitHub Actions everyday when you set it up so you can show off your streak.
BTW if you have any suggestions on how to add more customization to the badge please let me know! That could be different types of fire animations, different themes, or something competely random. I use my own pixel tool online called Gribble for making spritesheets from gifs. Preferrably pixel art related suggestions :)
Here is the repo: https://github.com/napahlm/thm-badge-generator
(You can check it out on my profile if you'd like at https://github.com/napahlm/ )

My first TryHackMe write-up is live! โ Empline ๐
Hey everyone!
Iโve published my first TryHackMe write-up, documenting my journey through the Empline room.
The room gave me hands-on practice with:
- ๐ Port scanning and subdomain discovery
- ๐ฅ OpenCATS Remote Code Execution (RCE)
- ๐๏ธ Database enumeration and password cracking
- ๐ง Linux privilege escalation using capabilities
Iโve tried to explain not just the commands I used, but also why I used them and how I understood each step.
๐ Medium: https://medium.com/@harshsonker12/tryhackme-empline-walkthrough-from-opencats-rce-to-root-aaf2bfc29240
๐ Website blog: https://harsh-sonker.vercel.app/blogs/empline-walkthrough
This is my first attempt at documenting a room, so Iโd genuinely appreciate any feedback or suggestions on how I can improve my future write-ups.
Thanks, and happy hacking! ๐ฉ

Discounts
Hello, im planning to buy tryhackme annual to learn more about cybersecurity during the holidays, but im planning on buying it during discounts to save a couple bucks.
Recently i saw the cyber awareness month discount with 30% off, but just a few hours ago when i was gonns buy it it just disappeared. Did the discount end? Im pretty sure it was supoosed to last a while longer.
Anyways if the discounts really over I'd appreciate it if anybody could tell me the next 30% discount, btw i already knoe about the black friday but even though the discount's probably gonna be bigger i don't wanna wait that long.
Thanks for taking the time to read this

Verification error
Hello, I am trying to take an exam but I have a verification error that doesn't see my cam, how can I fix?
All permissions are allowed, the browser is firebox, and the ad blocker is disabled.
Edit: found the solution.
1-open the site through phone
2-you will be prompted to use desktop instead, just click on the upper right main menu and select "desktop site" (depending on your browser)
3-continue the steps and return to PC after you finish the steps
