Killed and Grilled Last day of the season 🎣

All wild fish. Was not expecting any rainbows. First rainbows of the year actually, on the last day of trout season. Having fished the upper stretches of this creek and catching only brooks I was more than surprised. Hike beat the hell out of me and my old man, but memories like this make it more than worth it.

Got one of the only rainbows I've ever caught in this creek this morning, not sure on weight and length for certain because my combo scale floated away but its all of 20 inches or more and a good 7 or 8 lbs at least. And certainly chubby!

Picky biting being freshly stocked but pulled out a nice one for dinner! Great to be back on the stream after bass fishing all summer

Anyone here use braided line for creek trout fishing

Wondering if anyone has an opinion or advice on using 2-4lbs braided line on a spinning reels for creek fishing I always use 4lbs mono but have a lot of trouble due to the memory, wondering if braided line would work better or if I’d make it worse

I just seen this on Arkansas trout fishing Facebook and I can’t believe my eyes. If the angler is in here feel free to chime in and tell us the story! Claimed to be 33” and had a 24.5” girth. Little red River.

I know it's a very tiny little Brook but I had to share because the colors on him are absolutely stunning. I caught him on my brand new 3w 5'7" fiberglass rod.

October has been pretty good so far! Throwing rapalas mostly. Bunch of rainbows and browns but a nice brookie, and 2 especially nice browns has been the highlight.

Killed and Grilled Fish caught- No ice

Caught a brown and a rainbow yesterday from a stocked lake at 1:15pm and was filleted and in the freezer by 4, just thawed it now. Safe to eat? I did not use ice as a friend of mine never uses it.

It was a cold day (14c) and kept in a cool box since, no water no ice.
