[T6] What are people’s opinion on spamming logging camps to not waste wood?
For me, I have a “waste nothing” attitude and it gets annoying when a mine or land suitable for plantations happen to be under a bunch of trees. Sure, I can ignore the forest and build immediately, but that’s a bunch of free resources (wood) going up in smoke. I also find the lumber mill and shipyard to be a nice backbone for your economy up to the Cold War era. Besides, I can always destroy the logging camps once I cleared the area.
But I feel it takes way too long to clear an area, even with 2-3 logging camps at max budget

That sounds like an unhealthy attachment to pixelated trees

Dude there are many of us who arw environmentalists Id rather protect the environment. First thing I do in WW era is tree nursery.
You cant be the best El Presidente if you convert your island in a barren wasteland

Oh, and a quick dumb question, but do trees naturally reduce pollution like they do in real life? Like reduce the carbon emission

Unless the island's geography or the objective pushes me to it, I rather farm tobacco and sugar.
On normal conditions, wood only sheds good profit during colonial times, IMO.

Yeah, if you're making furniture or ships, just import the planks

Or if you don't want to import for some reason, they can be made with aluminum and plastic respectively.
Though it's been a while since I last played, so maybe double-check that plastic part.

With the Stonehenge monument you can put trees anywhere the monument will plop.

I try to use up resources but it is turn-based, so the area you mine and deplete in Colonial can become an entertainment district in a later stage, but like you, I avoid building over trees. I don't spam logging camps, but if there's sugar or rubber where the late game arena will be placed? Yes deplete the resource first.

Its not usually worth the opportunity cost of waiting. The meta is to get up to luxury goods asap to make good money. sometimes mines are fine by themselves though. So nah dont think about it.

I tend to focus more on cotton and sugar and then wool and coca for fabrics then clothes and chocolate

Leaving aside economic considerations, I will focus solely on the aspect of "making full use of trees."
First, just to confirm, you have set all your Logging Camp work modes to Clearing Woods, correct?
Otherwise, forests will remain semi-permanently through afforestation (apart from erosion caused by shacks).
When using Clearing Woods, the trees in the surrounding area will decrease steadily at first, but the pace will soon start to slow down.
This is because when cutting down trees far from the Logging Camp, most of the working time is spent traveling to the base of the tree, and people often give up and go home after only making a few cuts with the axe.
Therefore, if you are serious about clearing the forest, you will need to move your Logging Camp in accordance with the shifting forest boundary.

if its anything like as valuable as in T5 (in otherwise, its really not) you aren't really wasting anything.
Also, in T5 you could make the upgrade to logging camps to replant trees, which work even if all jobs were closed, meaning if you really wanted you could slowly remake trees, meaning they aren't really even wasted
If you can do similar in T6, then just plant new forests elsewhere

Wood really isn't valuable enough to do this imo. Even the final goods it can be turned into (books, boats, furniture) either aren't that great or can use alternate materials.
