Training questions Coaching question

I'm looking into coaching options for a full in 2 years. My goal is a full distance in 2028. I e done a few 70.3 and many shorter races. I'm doing NYC marathon again this year followed by Valencia Spain in December. I want to hit the new year with strength training and some fun races next year, nothing too stressful and really get back to enjoying tri. I live in NY. Has anyone used online options for coaching? I'm 43, 44 soon, and on the heavier side at 5'11" 225. I think in person would be better to give me form tips etc... but I'm open to online. Any advice on where to look or coach recommendations?

Thanks

I’m about the same age, just about to do my second 140.6 (first one was 2 years ago, I was 41).

MyProCoach (Phil Mosley) has worked well for me for the entire journey from couch to 140.6. You may be more advanced and need something more - I’m a mid to back of pack age grouper just having fun.

I'm totally mid to back. Just there for fun and health. I've heard of him before and happy to see someone that likes him. How personal is it? Is there conversation and feedback on videos? I'm really thinking of swim critique.

I haven’t seen a lot of social networking on the videos, but he does a good job and there is good clarity in the content. They have coaches available for email for “free” who can assist with specifics. I haven’t used them much. For my first 140.6, I paid a local swim coach for a few sessions but I found my local tri team to be very robust in swim coaching and events.

I'd check out some of the more local triclubs/coaches. For example, https://www.rtatri.com is great. They'll do in person swim/bike/run coaching, but then have the bulk of your workout planning happen online. In some ways it's the best of both worlds.

They also run training camps at Lake Placid to help get you in a good place.

I've used them a few times and only have great things to say about Chris/Elizabeth.

Nothing beats in-person coaching for the swim. Immediate feedback and corrections to deficiencies will help build good habits and instill proper technique. Online coaching for programming and everything else is probably fine, just do your research and make sure you and your coach have an understanding of expectations out of each other.

I have used Tridot since 2021 and it got me through 10 70.3s and 1 full this year. I would love to afford a coach but can’t right now. Tridot allowed me to move workouts around to fit my schedule. I also recently bought a Phil Moseley program just to compare and it was relatively close in terms of programming just not as dynamic as Tridot. I also like the Tridot app and the Facebook group which allows for social interaction and answers to questions. They also have Tridot meetups at a lot of the bigger races.

I should also add I took 15 in person swim lessons before I struck out on my own to swim.

Check out No Limits Endurance Coaching https://nolimitsendurance.com/. I used Lindsay Leigh for years I qualified for the 70.3 worlds and the full in Nice last year.
