Ive started using injections again after being on T for a couple months (gel for the last month,) and even though I’m on such a low dose, I can’t help but feel just.. overwhelmingly happy.

I do my own shots, and I enjoy it. I actually get excited for the entire night before, so eager to get to have a tangible hand in my own creation.

I used to scar up the thighs that now take my injections, I didn’t realize I was self harming in the exact spot I would eventually be injecting. I didn’t think I’d be injecting ever, to be fair. I was stuck in my parents home, trapped and suppressed and losing my mind, if not my self.

The other day, in my new apartment, with the window open and cool air flowing in the way it never did in my room at my parents- I woke up with this old song I used to listen to by Rex orange county - “it’s not the same place anymore”.

Today, I wiped down healed, near invisible scars down with alcohol wipes, and injected hope back into the fatty part of my thigh.

It’s not the same anymore.

Zero of Mars is a Human youth in the 99th Century, when the gender binary no longer exists. Zero crash lands on Elentia, once a Human colony, but now filled with Elemorphs, the living robot descendents of the self-replicating machines which were left behind. Zero is found and befriended by an Elemorph named One. Despite speaking different languages, the two use other forms of communication to understand one another and become close friends. As they explore Elentia, they discover a series of prophecies which predict their future - but were left for Zero and One to find over a thousand years ago. Unwittingly, the two are pulled into an eternal conflict called the Time Wars as they search for the last starship on Elentia, and a way off the planet. In the process, they make friends with many Elemorphs of different sizes and shapes, as well as discovering powerful enemies empowered by the foes of Humanity and the Elemorphs.

My name is Bijhan Agha, the author of this comic. I am an autistic trans woman in Uruguay of Iranian descent. The artist of the comic is my dear friend Pallet, an autistic trans man in Australia. We are both passionate about science fiction and fantasy storytelling as a means of engaging the imagination to inspire justice.

Our hope with the comic The Adventures of Zero & One was to provide a way for adults to talk to young people about language, gender, and solidarity across culture. Zero uses "they/them" pronouns because of the era from which they come, their gender identity and expression deeply informed by their Martian culture. One, like all Elemorphs, use "it/its" pronouns, as they constructed their entire civilization absent the concept of gender. The two characters form a deep and important friendship despite being unable to speak directly to each other, finding common ground in their values despite having nothing in common culturally. Zero and One are here to inspire young people to form bonds with those they might otherwise not connect to; to show that friendship and solidarity exists beyond the bounds of identity and shared experience.

The Kickstarter is to print a special First Edition physical run of Issue #2 with an orange border that will never be used again, marking these comics as collectible. We have physical and digital rewards, including packages with the previous issue, and other issues of Time Wars comics and novellas set in the same universe, but taking place in different eras and focused on different characters.

We have already met our original goal and are now striving for our stretch goal, which would unlock a short story for every backer. "Zero: Origins" would explain how and why Zero of Mars came to the Elentian Starsystem, where they were coming from, and where they were going.

Please help us spread a positive and uplifting message through comics.

This was my first time trying this new style. It was rather vulnerable but also fun & empowering. I'll be exploring this style some more, both with more self portraits and thru collaborative portraits of other Trans Folx.

I have a vision of having conversations with the Trans subject about the meaning of a very euphoric photo. What feelings and quotes come to mind. What challenges and affirmations. Then taking all of that and reflecting it all back to the subject with an affirmation art such as this.

Created myself as a powerpuff girl because I like the power puff girls, and I’m MtF. This is what I would look like as a powerpuff girl I went as close as possible to what I would really look like as a powerpuff girl

I went to an ambient music, movement, and art night where performers spent several hours moving very slowly through different poses. I brought a sketchbook thinking I would do fairly traditional live figure drawings, but I quickly realized that even though the movement was slow, nobody was actually staying still.

Every time I looked down to draw and then looked back up, the figure had shifted. At first I kept trying to adjust the drawing, but eventually I just gave in and started drawing each new position directly over the previous one.

Over about three hours I made close to 30 drawings, and they became progressively more layered and chaotic. I really like that they ended up feeling less like drawings of individual poses and more like accumulated traces of a body moving through time.

Zero & One is a comic about a young Human making friends with a robot powered by nature magic, exploring the world of Elentia, full of magical robots. Because of a language barrier, the two have to find a way to communicate. They are being led to a mysterious destination by a series of clues left behind hundreds of years ago.

My name is Bijhan Agha, a trans woman of Iranian descent in Uruguay. The artist is my dear friend Pallet, a trans man in Australia. We're also both autistic and have special interests which include scifi and fantasy storytelling. Our goal with this series is to inspire people of all ages to be their true selves, and imagine a future full of magic and wonder.

We make several series of comics, and this is the one we designed to be a way for queer parents or parents of queer kids to talk about gender, the future, language, and solidarity across cultures.

Our Kickstarter is to print the First Edition of Issue #2 with a special orange border, never to be used in future printings, that marks it as a collectible. Our rewards include both digital and physical single issues, as well as back issues for all of our comics, as well as novellas.
