Always interesting to see, how flexible steel behaves under enough force

I like the videos where they’re replacing old track, and you get to see huge lengths flex at crazy angles coming off the train

Would the engineer feel that?

Probably, but hi rail and maintenance vehicles drive over it regularly and ignore it

The maintenance vehicles don't weight enough to make it flex so much that they're feeling it inside of the cab.

Most people dont know this but train cars are really stiff and appreciate a bit of yoga on the way

Should probably put a speed restriction of 10mph there until MoW replaces a few ties and tamps them. Not my craft but it does look iffy.

those ties underneath must be pure mud and sawdust at this point. steel rail has impressive elasticity, but using the rail itself as the primary suspension because the ties are rotted out is wild.
