I thought this was going to be the break dancer movie.

I made this comment in another thread and a bunch of people downvoted me. Must have caught the Aussies at a bad time.

Did they steal every visual from The Fifth Element? I'm in.

I saw a little bit of The Phantom Menace in there...

And a touch of The Adventures of Pluto Nash

Seriously, all the car chase sequence stuff looks like it was directly lifted from the movie. Multiple shots look like a 1:1 copy of the shots from The Fifth Element, just animated over.

Looks like a straight copy of fifth element and blade runner. Meh

Honestly have no idea what to make of this. Visually looks "good", albeit I feel like there isn't a solid enough style that hooks me. The protagonist for example looks high fidelity "generic" while the alien characters lean more toony and distinct. As for the story, I still have no idea what it's about. Retto-future noir with some action, I guess? Narrative is a lot of vague lines fit for a trailer that suggests next to nothing.

It's directed by Brad Bird though, so I've got hopes it will have something that sticks!

Every single comment section on this movie will have an Australian break dancer joke for all time, bet.

Looks great, but they didn't have to give so much away to hook.

So Roger Rabbit? Not sure who the target audience is.
