Experimentally disabling cross-posts
If this sucks we can revert it, but a lot of really garbage submissions are crossposts; it's easy to just make the same post here again if you actually care about what you're posting, anyway.

Lion King Tonie - Circle of Life song
Does anyone know the name of the singer who covers the song circle of life on the lion king tonie? I cannot find the name of the artist anywhere online. I think the male singer has a great voice and would like to hear more of their songs.

Looking for a wand (or similar) that when you touch a DIFFERENT thing, one of the two lights up
I want to take a part a toy like this so I can have a magician costume where I use my want to touch one of two hats and the hats themselves light up their own color. I don’t have the expertise to make this myself lol

Where to buy original Plasmacar?
Hi! I want to get my almost 4 yr old a Plasmacar for Christmas but all I see are the electronic wiggle cars. Does anyone know where to find the original plasmacar that can hold up to 220 lbs?

Are there kaleidoscope-style toys that project or display colorful patterns outward, so my baby can watch them without needing to peer through a viewing hole?
My baby girl is almost 8 months old and absolutely loves gazing at high-contrast images and patterns — she can stare at them for ages! It got me thinking: instead of cycling through the same set of cards or prints, why not introduce her to something that generates endless variety?
That’s what led me to the idea of a kaleidoscope-style toy where every glance reveals a completely new pattern. The only catch is that she’s still too young to hold one up to her eye and peer through a viewing hole, so I’m looking for something that projects or displays the patterns outward, where she can simply look at them.
One more thing I’d love to keep it screen-free and battery-free. Ideally a mechanical toy she can eventually interact with physically as she grows.
Has anyone come across something like this? Would love to hear your recommendations!

Anyone seen anything like this?
So I picked this thing up in 2001. You can tell by the plastic being soaked in nicotine stains (thanks older brother), anyways, its supposed to be a Duke vs Cobra Commander but you can clearly see that is not who is in the packaging. Its some baseball player with the wrong disconnected midsection and someone else. I faintly remember emailing Hasbro about it and their response was something to the effect of “that’s not our product, please dont email about this again. Does anyone have any information about it or who these characters are?

Original Action Man Sculpts
As some of you may remember, I posted a while ago about how my dad was responsible for sculpting some of the most popular (and not so popular) toys spanning from the late 80's to the mid/late 2010's. Well I've started to pull it out and I've realised how big of a job this is going to be, and finding and filming the gems (Polly Pocket, Barbie, Transformers etc) to put on YouTube and show you guys. It does seem however that every other box contains some form of Action Man sculpt/cast/mould so we wont be short of that.
Here are some pictures from the first box we pulled out, and some other bits that were laying around, all Action Man stuff.
1: Dr Gangrene Mutant Spider - First sculpt.
Don't think this was ever released but was sculpted around 2004. You can see the concept art under the sculpt which was used for sizing and artistic reference
2: ATOM series Hybridon - First sculpt.
This was released around 2005-6 but was revised in later sculpts
3: Action Man Battle Vest - First sculpt.
Sculpted around an existing AM body that would later be moulded and cut apart to separate, released about 1998
4: Silver Speedster - Original Prototype
Unmade first prototype from around 1998. found it in a black bin bag that was destined for the rubbish. this wont have been seen in any form for almost 30 years
I've filmed these items for a video, it was my first attempt at doing anything like this and I know I've got a lot to learn so please go easy, I will get better. Your support would be massively appreciated as this will be a long process but one I would love to undertake, especially as it'll probably be the last project with my father due to failing health.
The video is at https://youtu.be/ft1gHXjBYXY?si=UCgytUZtU2VwruD9
It would be great if you would subscribe
Updates will follow soon

Speech to text toy for 5 year old
Not quite sure if this is the right community for this question, please let me know if there is somewhere else I should post this.
Tl;dr: looking for a speech to text or similar type toy that can spell things for my writing obsessed daughter.
My barely 5 year old is getting really good at writing her letters, she can’t read yet but she loves to write down words and sentences, even short stories— the only problem is that she doesn’t know how to spell yet and she also struggles with sounding out words. Our method currently is to ask her to sound it out and tell us which letter she thinks should come next, although she is almost never correct (phonics is hard and she’s only in preschool), and then give her the correct spelling and help her understand the sound/letter association. My husband and I love helping her with this, and it’s great when we can sit next to her and put 100% of our focus into it, but right now this is her favorite activity and the only thing she wants to do when she isn’t outside. I would love for her to be able to do it independently during quiet time in her room or when I need to get some things done and don’t want to have to tell her how to spell a single 5 letter word 7 times over 10 minutes. I would love for the toy to help her with the sounds of the letters, but I’d also be happy if it would just display the word she says on a screen or spell it back to her out loud.
I’ve considered an Alexa or other smart speaker, but my husband is wary of them and would prefer to not have one in the house at all, and especially not in our daughter’s room. I’ve asked Siri to spell things for me before, but she obviously doesn’t need a smart phone and I don’t like her to have my phone when I can’t supervise her directly (and if I’m in a position to supervise her directly then I’d rather just do the activity with her), we also don’t do tablets for the kids (no judgment to anyone who does tho, I think they’re a great tool if you’re disciplined enough to not let them use it 24/7– we are not) although I do have an iPad and have considered setting it up in a common area where she can’t reach it so she can ask Siri to spell things for her without being able to swipe through it.
I havnt been able to find a toy or even a generally kid friendly/non-screen device (in terms of no videos or YouTube) that will do this and I’m open to any ideas or suggestions. I love that she loves this, it’s so good for her and honestly, I enjoy the little stories she makes up and writes down. I love helping her, but it’s just too much for me to help her do it all day long. It’s so overstimulating to have her constantly running to find me to have me spell for her when I’ve also got a 2 year old to take care of and play with, a house to keep up, and a husband who works long hours and isn’t home until the evening. Of all of the problems we could have, this is a best case scenario, but if you’ve got any ideas for solving it I’d really appreciate it.

Is this toy a rare pull? Me and my friend were eating those coris whistle candies and in the blindbox we got this. They said it was limited edition but I’m not too sure

What is this E.T. blow up from!?
I found this really cool E.T. inflatable at the thrift store, but i can't find anything about it online!
Its around (estimating by eye here,) 16" tall, 12" x 12".
The base is a pyramid shape, the only text is the copyright on the front, no date anywhere
I'm really curious if anyone knows the age and/or origins of this guy! Thanks!!
