Question(s) i need help (PH) NSFW

good morning po! my tortoise got bitten by our dog and due to lack of vet services in the philippines, i don't know what else to do ._.

part of the shell came off and there was a lot of bite marks. i searched online and i'm not sure how safe betadine will be for it :< can anyone help?

Infection is probably the number one concern at this stage. Betadine is safe for use on tortoises. I would flush the wounds with lots of clean water (tap water is fine as long at it’s clean) and then apply Betadine. When flushing the wounds with water, you don’t want the water going into the body cavity (because you don’t want to wash any germs into the body cavity). I can’t tell in the pics how severe those wounds are. Does it look like any of them have poked a hole all the way into the body cavity?

If you had access to a vet, x-rays and antibiotics would be the preferred next step. After that, you need to figure out how bad the shell fractures are and if any of them will need to be stabilised (like putting a splint on a person’s broken arm).
