Once, there were three Mario Brothers. You know two of them. The third... you were never meant to.

Honkio, cap with a mysterious green P emblem, clown nose, turquoise overalls, and shoes that go on a little too long, was the forgotten sibling, erased from memory by a conspiracy of gaming's most infamous villains. While Mario and Luigi carried on as legends, Honkio slipped into "hidden gem" status: not gone, not dead, just... unremembered. The diamond's that hidden.

He didn't take it too hard. He honked, he waited, and he believed someone would come looking.

The Evil King Koopa, Bowser, once joined forces with a who's-who of gaming's most notorious names: S*nic, A*tro Bot, Cr*sh Bandicoot, Ra*man, and the entire Koopa Troop. Their goal? Bury the Mario Brothers so deep in obscurity that no one would ever remember them again.

It worked on Honkio. It didn't work on Mario and Luigi.

Now, three magical warriors, Usagi Tsukino, Sakura Kinomoto, and Erika Kurumi, arrive in Hidden-Gem Land with news of an ancient artifact: The Eggo of Destiny, a magical golden waffle said to break anyone, game, or franchise out of hidden-gem status forever.

Honkio, the magical girls, and a rag-tag crew of fellow hidden gems, Chibi-Robo, Mike Jones, Stanley the Bugman, and The Legendary Starfy, set out across worlds far less hidden: the Sinnoh Region, Tallon IV, Hyrule, Planet Popstar, and beyond, all to reach the Mushroom Kingdom.

But the road is blocked by villains old and new: Ganondorf, Ridley, King K. Rool, Mewtwo, Wolf O'Donnell, and a parade of platformer mascots with grudges of their own: Cr*sh Bandicoot, A*ex Kidd, Bu*sy the Bobcat, B*nk, and even S*nic. Add in the magical girls' own rogues' galleries, and the journey becomes a real whopping.

Can they reach the Mushroom Kingdom, defeat Bowser and his evil clones, and claim The Eggo of Destiny?

MAN THIS YEAR WAS AMAZING, ESPECIALLY WITH ALL THE NEW CHARACTERS THAT GOT INTRODUCED TO THE MARIO FRANCHISE, IT'S AMAZING WE GOT MARIO'S FULL FAMILY TREE, A TON OF NEW LOOKALIKES, AND PEACH'S PARENTS & BOWSER'S PARENTS NOW, AND WITH GETTING A COLD WAR POKÉMON GAME INSPIRED BY 60s AMAERICA & RUSSIA, NOT TO MENTION SEEING THE MODERN DAY OF HYRULE, AND BEST OF ALL MARIO GETTING HIS OWN JORGE JOESTAR WITH ALL THE METAFICTION AND GETTING TO SEE 36 RECLUSAS ON WARIO PLANET AND HIM TURN GOOD AND RECLUSA VS ULTIMATE DIMENTIO

I Can't wait for next year, especially “Pikmin 5: The Research Colonization of PNF-404” and ”Waluigi and the Terrible Slasher Film” and ”Mamario & Maluigi: The Great Flanderization” and the new Mario & Luigi game that was teased, and “Star Fox The Family Years”
