TIL that it is impossible for a centipede to have 100 legs. They have one pair of legs per body segment, but always an odd number of body segments, allowing for 98 and 102 legs, but not 100.

TIL ALL centipedes are venomous. They inject venom through appendages which are actually modified legs instead of fangs. The number of pairs of legs is an odd number that ranges from 15 pairs to 191 pairs.

TIL that no centipede naturally has exactly 100 legs. A quirk in their development means each centipede has an odd number of body segments, making 50 pairs of legs impossible.
