i cannot for the life of me find this case I’m looking for!

All I remember is there was a gay couple and one of them went missing. Turns out he was in the basement (or attic?) and had been killed.

Does anyone know anything about this? Been scouring google but can’t find it :(

So I am unsure if I am misremembering a handful of cases and they are combining in my mind. But I swear there was a case where a girl was assaulted/murdered and stuffed in a cluttered cupboard area in a basement of her (I believe) friends house. And was found a few days later. I believ it was in the 70s-90s. Not sure exactly which decade. When I try and Google about it none of the cases really fit.
