The Unsuspecting Prey
Excerpt from the thriller The Unsuspecting Prey):
I heard footsteps approaching behind me. I spun around and saw a flashlight bouncing up and down coming toward me. I moved off the path to the left so I wouldn’t get run over in the darkness. Finally, the runner caught up and started to pass me.
I shouted “Jeff!!”
Startled, he pointed something at me and said “Holy crap, Phillip! I almost blew your head off! Don’t do that again!”
“You brought a gun?!!” He just looked at me, shocked that this is the discussion I wanted to have with a child screaming in the darkness. He took off again and I chased after him, doing my best to follow in his footsteps. The screaming had stopped, but that just caused us to run faster. We came up on Eric’s blue tent which was wide open. We ran past to the boys’ tent and found it unzipped. The dog was laying 6 feet away. Jeff shined the flashlight inside their open tent, but they weren’t in there. “What is happening???” I was starting to shake, and I knew it wasn’t from the cold. I frantically looked all around me but couldn’t see anything. I would have given anything in that moment for a working flashlight of my own.
Standing there in the dark with no gun, no phone, no flashlight, and no training, I felt completely unprepared for the moment. It shook me to my core that all three boys were missing and one of them had actually been screaming. My chest tightened, and for a second I couldn’t breathe. I felt a chill like pins and needles going up my spine. I deeply wished, in that moment, that I could go back in time and simply say no to this camping trip…

"I think I can do something with this". My thoughts after watching Primetime
"I think I can do something with this". My thoughts after watching Primetime
Im not a defender of these awful human sh.ts called ped..h..es. I'll keep this brief. First go and watch this movie. If you ever seen tcap it's almost like a greatest hits of pred.tors. There's some funny moments, trippy, and dark. The story is about three people Chris Hansen, the producer Andie and the actor Dan Plum aka Decoy Dan. The story is basically what it takes to make and keep a successful show successful. For folks who grew up in the 90s and early 00s ratings were everything. Folks who grew up during streaming where they cancel great shows after one season may not get it. Chris was doing his job, Andie definitely doing her job Dan he didn't know. Dan was a young actor who wanted to get his foot in the door. He had no idea what he was getting himself into. Until Andie convince Chris to have a conversation and a drink with him. The reason being all of the male actors keep leaving the show( Andie definitely doing her job😉 it will come up later). Chris was also having an affair during this time as well. Where the sh.t hits the fan and spoilers is the Bill Conradt The Whale case. Which of course it should lead to that. I know this is supposed to be brief and I'm skipping alot actually. Throughout the movie Chris becomes obsessed to get his whale. If you read Moby dick you'll understand. His boss breathing down his neck, family life is strained, the affair is leaked and Chris is cracking. The final moments one that sympathize with Bill...yea it tried, the producer in a way was leading the investigation with the sheriff telling her it's her show after suggesting to put cameras on the guns, Dan is cracking thinking he's a bad person. Chris told him what he and him think is bad is vastly different. Dan talks and sings a song with Bill on the phone as the cops with cameras and flashlights on their guns barge in. Chris and Bill are staring at each other as the light from the cop gun is aimed at bills head. Bill pulls the trigger of the gun he had and off himself. Dan stop singing meaning he also heard the shot. He left while Chris is shocked because of what happened in front of him. Bill was in his home Chris was outside. The scariest line of the movie comes from Andie. She said I can work with this after the cameras attached to guns caught Bill offing himself. Chris recites the chat log of what Bill sent the decoy and it's foul. The movie ends a year later with Dan receiving his sag card for his work on Tcap. If you seen it let's discuss if not let's discuss. Seriously the producer was doing her job frightening so.

I wrote a crime thriller trilogy about what happens AFTER the crew wins — the heist is just book one
Most heist thrillers end at the getaway. I kept wondering what happens when five friends actually pull it off and have to live with the power — so I wrote three books about it: the heist, the institution, the reckoning. It's called Vice Boys, neo-noir crime set in a harbor city that runs on favors and leverage, and all three are on Kindle Unlimited.
Curious: what are your favorite thrillers that deal with the aftermath rather than the job itself? Series: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HJYSVXHX

The Blue Butterfly Ch. 3
Chapter III
The rest of the school day went by in a blink. Gladeside High was known for being packed with students, which made it fairly easy to blend in. All I had to do was slip into the back of each classroom, do some assignments, and repeat the process for all the classes. Before the second class after break, I briefly met up with Penny and she handed me my backpack. She was the closest person I had to a friend in this current timeline. Among this, I still continued to search for Butterfly. In classrooms, during passing periods, and during lunch. Penny led me to where Butterfly normally sat, but she was nowhere to be seen.
“Oh my gosh. Imagine missing the final day of your school life here. I don’t like school, but I would at least show up on my last day,” Penny said with a sigh.
I nodded in agreement, but on the inside, I was devastated. Now what? The solution to this case was absent on her last day here. How am I going to return home now? I felt nauseous. Am I ever going to see Aylin again? Or my parents, or friends… Am I ever going back to my life?
~
I think I’ve never felt so lost in my life. Even here, I was forced into a new timeline in a town I spent my whole life in, but everything felt foreign. I knew some of the teachers, but none of them knew me. Nobody knew me. The school day seemed to pass even quicker. I cried in the bathroom a few times, though, and that was the most productive thing I’ve done all day.
The final bell rang and it was time to go home. Yeah right, if I even had one. This body I was possessing seemed pretty lonely too, didn’t seem to have no friends or attention. However, when I walked out of the school courtyard, I saw a middle-aged Persian man wave in my direction.
“Hey, over here!” he called.
I looked behind me. Nobody. I guessed that he was the father of the girl I inhabited, so I followed him to his gray Volvo 240 sedan. I got into the passenger seat with no regards to stranger danger. I prepared myself to be in character for my “father.” A few moments later, after he backed the Volvo out of the parking spot and pulled it onto the road, he glanced at me and opened his mouth to speak. I kept telling myself in my head, stay in character, stay in character, stayin—
“I’m so glad you decided to go to school today, Nevra.”

Next chapter coming in two days!
