“This is literally… rubbish!”
reddit.comNew White House Press Officer who said she qualified as an attorney in China, makes huge rambling nonsensical statement name checking no one, but she has consulted widely, with unnamed people, and, today, she is a lawyer.

Why? Because I'm bored, it's funny, and I hate you. There you are: the Holy Trinity of why.

Funniest by far
I’m just rewatching for the umpteenth time, but first time in a while, and I have to admit Glen is definitely the funniest character IMO.
His sarcasm, use of the glasses, reacting to being shat on, shocked expressions, snide comments. All brilliant.
Thoughts?

Everybody hates Julius huh ?
I'm rewatching the series for the first time in years and man I don't think I've seen a character that has authority become more of a punching bag than Nicholson. Aside from Malcolm constantly showing over and over again that he despises him, every other character seems to either talk shit about him or whenever he shows up has that "oh not this fucking guy again" face.

Huw Edwards disgrace foreshadowed in spinners and losers
Around 21:15 into the episode tucker says 'that's just as libellous as the Huw Edwards rumour'
This has probably been discussed here before but I wonder what that referred to at the time.
Was there already rumours that he was a wrongun back then?

I'm making a game where the government's answer to the small boats is a £16m phone game. It's an omnishambles by design.
M.O.M. - Ministry of Misery is a satirical paperwork sim where you play the "Minister of Everything" in a very broken British government. You stamp policies, take the odd bribe, manage the press, and blame everyone but yourself.
This questline was inspired by a real political party putting a "stop the boats" arcade game in their app last month. In mine, the Home Office asks for a plan, and one of the options is to commission your own phone game about it. The headlines that follow are about what you'd expect.
The show was a big inspiration, so I'd love to know: which Thick of It moment would you want to see as a crisis on the minister's desk?

Malcolms last words to the press
Recently rewatched this and still think it's genius. He'd spent years using language as his sword, spinning the media to his will, never being lost for words, and always saying what needs to be said. Yet, in this moment, when he's stood on the steps facing the cameras, and he knows its over, he probably has every fibre of his being ready to launch a scathing attack on hypocrisy and a rallying speech in his own defense. - he takes a breath, starts to muster up a that speech, we see the cogs turning, but as the cameras flashed and the baccy finger stained journalists begged him for a comment, he knew that it didn't matter what he said, it didn't matter how he said it, he was done. He knew they'd all spin their own stories anyway. So he looks, and almost with a sense of relief says.. "It doesn't matter."
This time for me watching it also resonated deeper as ive gotten to the point personally where I'm at peace with stopping trying to help certain people who clearly don't want to be helped, and who will misinterpret what I say despite my passionate tucker-esque (but friendlier) style of delivery.
Malcolm Tucker, esquire. What a hero.

What's cheaper than a Twix?
galleryMy book is better than a marzipan dildo. But it is, actually, a novel way of writing a fucking awful story.
I wrote a comedy bestseller (on Amazon) that's now 99p this week. Inspired by The Thick of It, there are a tonne of easter eggs in there.
Notwithstanding, the secret society of disgraced MPs have a headquarters called the 'Omnibar'
Btw the Twix Extra cost £1.65...wtf.

'Several'.
Must have been ad-libbed. It's just so perfectly stupid.
