Discussion Your AI Agent isn't your friend, it’s a data exfiltration goldmine.

With the 2026 push for "Agentic AI" (autonomous agents that can book flights, manage emails, and handle bank transfers), we’ve officially opened the final door. Google’s new "Agent Identities" are supposed to secure this, but let’s be real: giving a model a unique ID and the power to operate "autonomously" is just a high-tech way to centralize your entire life for a single point of failure. If one prompt injection can hijack an agent with financial permissions, your "digital twin" becomes your digital assassin. Is anyone actually sandboxing their agents, or are we just hoping for the best?

Question Instagram Privacy - How do i hide my location?

Hello everybody!
Recently i've been looking into Meta and i wanted to change my location entirely from it but it seems like it's not as easy.

(*I have NordVPN and I have an iPhone.*)

I changed my location to USA using NordVPN (I live in Europe).
I then reinstalled Instagram, logged in, but it was the exact same country and city as where I currently was.

So when I realized that the VPN didn't work I did some research about this and Meta can supposedly bypass VPN's and many other things.
Im using a second phone, so I don't even have a SIM Card on this phone.
My location services are also off entirely.

I did find out tho that using a VPN browser extension on my PC works.
I also have Nord downloaded on my PC as a program and it still doesn't work as good, but if you use a VPN Browser Extension instead then it works perfectly fine and it changes the location entirely.

Problem with that tho is that you can't really use Instagram on your browser since unfortunately you are limited to lots of things and you can't properly use it but im pretty sure there are ways of hiding your location from IG and other apps on your iPhone.
If you know any ways of fully changing your iphones location please let me know!

Question Epson ET-2820 printer as photocopier for private documents?

Hi, I am new here. I need to make copies of some documents and I want to be sure there is no chance thay can go online. I have an Epson ET-2820 printer that works also as a photocopier. If I copy my papers with this printer without connecting it to the PC and with the wifi option turned off, can I be sure that everything stay local and disappear once the printer is turned off? I think it could be safe but I am not an expert. Anyone more knowledgeable can give me an opinion/advice?

Thanks

Discussion Are my phone apps all sharing data with each other?

I am beginning to become interested in privacy now with flock cameras and increased surveillance. A few days I read an article about how your phone is a massive breach of personal privacy. A few minutes ago I ordered food from Wendy’s on DoorDash. Now as I browse on Reddit the Wendy’s subreddit pops into my recommendations. I have never looked up or read anything on that Subreddit ever before. How bad is the current state of phone surveillance? Maybe I should delete all apps other than apple products.

Question How to remove personal information from internet for free?

Last night i was really bored and decided to search my full name and city out of random curiosity and honestly i got freaked out. my home address, cell phone number, and even my relatives names showed up right there on the first page of google on random people finder sites like whitepages n spokeo. i couldnt sleep last night thinking is there any way how to remove personal information from internet for free or if i cannot do anything

I just really dont want to be paying those $100/year subscriptions like incogni or delete me. i literally dont have extra cash for monthly services right now

I spent a couple hours today scrooling privacy subreddits n tech forums to see what manual diy options actually work. this is what i found:

method how it works pros and cons
google opt out form search results about you on google or submit a removal request link fast for google results, but doesnt remove it from the actual source site
manual broker opt outs go directly to whitepages, spokeo, fastpeoplesearch opt out pages completely free and permanent, but takes forever to do one by one
state privacy laws  email their privacy team referencing your legal right to delete data legally forces them to comply, but some sites take 30 days to answer

But honestly i just think that doing all these opt out forms one by one is confusing and takes a loooot of time am i right? half the sites hide their removal page in tiny text at the bottom of the footer or demand you confirm via email

So i was really hoping that there are people who managed to clean up their digital footprint manually and could tell me how to remove personal information from internet for free in the fastest way possible? i would really really appreciate it

Question VPN with no logs: does it make any difference for pedestrian privacy

I'm not trying to run an account on the silk road lol. I just use public Wi-Fi frequently when I travel for work and don't love all the tracking warnings and stuff that happens when I am out in the world. There are lots of VPNs advertising "no logs" that the phrase is making my eyes glaze over. For an everyday joe, how much should I care about a provider's logging policy?

Question Does anyone else find it creepy when stores recognize you through their apps?

i walked into a store recently and got a notification from their app about offers available at that location. I hadn't even opened the app. I know location permissions are a thing, but it still feels weird how much apps can figure out about where we go. Made me go through my phone and disable location access for a bunch of apps. Do you guys allow shopping apps to access your location, or is that an instant no?

Follow the yellow brick road, my friends, because this time we're going behind the curtain — and we're bringing RECEIPTS.

Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeffrey Epstein, Ashley St. Clair, and the United States government. What do they have in common? That's exactly what we're exploring.

In this WWJPS investigation, we're revisiting the Elon Musk documentary and digging deeper into the interviews, documents, lawsuits, and connections that deserve a closer look.

We're examining the Meta lawsuit, Ashley St. Clair's story, Epstein's connections to powerful figures, and congressional hearings discussing directed-energy weapons and emerging technologies.

Artificial intelligence, surveillance, social engineering, government contracts, billionaires, and technology that sounds like something straight out of science fiction — except some of it is being discussed in congressional hearings.

Could somebody explain this in laymans terms?

Is this a false one or an actual threat? Cause looks like most of the info stolen was test passwords people had like admin 123456 etc but they got free credits for the issues, so sounds like some data got stolen?

Would be nice to have control for how long the password is available for the other person...

Question Does anyone actually cover their laptop webcam anymore?

I noticed my coworker has a tiny piece of tape over their laptop camera, and it got me thinking about whether people still do this.

I used to cover mine years ago but stopped after getting a laptop with a built in camera indicator. Still, I know software isn't always perfect.

Do you guys physically cover your webcams, or is that just an outdated privacy habit at this point?

password manager black friday deals 2026

I’ve been checking out a few of the offers that have started popping up this week and wanted to compare what’s actually worth considering. Somehow that turned into me putting together all the password manager Black Friday deals 2026 I could find in one place lol.

I use a password manager for way too many logins at this point, but renewal prices can get annoying. Mostly checked the bigger names people actually talk about rather than random password apps.

Anyways, these are the black friday password manager deals I found so far:

NordPass - offers 61% off. One of the bigger discounts I found and still pretty afordable.

1Password - 50% off this year. I've seen this recommended a lot for families and people with multiple devices and with the sales of black friday it seems like its worth it.

RoboForm - up to 60% off. its been around for ages so seems very trustworthy.

Keeper - 50% off atm. Pretty decent black friday sale and seems like one of thebetter password manager deals if Keeper was already on your list.

Proton Pass - 50% off discount. Probably makes more sense if you're already using other Proton stuff.

Dashlane - couldn't find a confirmed black friday discount yet. Will keep the post updated if it comes up, maybe there even wont be a deal for it.

Bitwarden - no discount I could confirm so far too. Its already pretty cheap though, so not that surprising.

There are obviously differences beyond price. Personally I wouldn't move all my passwords somewhere else just to save a tiny amount. Exporting everything and setting it back up is annoying enough.

Not sure how long the current offers will stay the same either, so I'll update the post if anything changes or I find more password manager black friday deals 2026. If you've seen another one thats actually worth adding, let me know.

Question Do you trust public wifi if you're using a vpn?

I work from coffee shops sometimes and usually connect to their wifi with a vpn running. Never really thought much about it until someone told me they wouldn't use public wifi for anything involving personal accounts.

I know https already protects a lot of traffic these days, but I'm wondering how cautious people actually are.

Would you feel comfortable logging into your bank or email on public wfi with a vpn, or do you just stick to mobile data?

Question Why is huawei banned in us?

Hello everyone, i am writing here because i have an issue and i think someone here could help me… why is huawei banned in us?? my uncle gave me his old phone last week because my galaxy screen smashed completely and i couldnt afford a new one right now. its a huawei p30 pro and honestly the camera on this thing is insane and it works perfect, but when i tried setting up my usual apps i realized google play store isnt even on here. when i tried downloading gmail or maps it just kept glitching out and saying unsupported, so i started searching and saw that a lot of people online actually ask why is huawei banned in us and why american companies cant work with them

From what i read it basically comes down to the us government being worried about national security and spying? they said huawei has close ties to the chinese government so they blocked american companies like google from doing business with them. thats why these phones lost access to google play, youtube, and banking apps. is this really true?

I tried downloading some workaround app stores to get everything working, but half my apps still refuse to open and its annoying. the phone hardware itself feels brand new and runs so smooth, but the software hassle is giving me a headache

So maybe someone who know about tech could tell me why is huawei banned in us still to this day? is there any chance this ever changes or should i just start saving up for a cheap refurbished phone instead?

Question does anyone know how to find all accounts linked to my email address for free?

i’ve been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, and one thing i’ve really wanted to do is get more control over my online presence. i started thinking about how much personal information i’ve probably left scattered across the internet over the years. i’d honestly like to remove as much of my personal information as possible. i wanted something more useful than just checking for data breaches, so i’ve been looking into people search tools and came across findsio. it seems like a useful starting point for looking up publicly available information associated with an email. obviously, i know there’s no magic button that’ll find literally every account you’ve ever created, but i’d love to make the whole process less tedious. has anyone used apps for this kind of digital footprint cleanup? what other methods would you recommend for finding old accounts and getting rid of data you no longer want online? thx

Question Do you use your real birthday when signing up for websites?

i was creating an account on a shopping website yesterday and it asked for my full date of birth. No explanation why they needed it, and it wasn't an age restricted site either.

Got me thinking about how many random companies probably have my birthday stored somewhere.

Do you guys give your real date of birth when websites ask for it, or only when it's actually necessary? Feels like such an unnecessary piece of personal information to collect

Question Do you actually read app privacy policies before installing?

I was about to install a simple weather app and decided to check its privacy policy for once. Turns out it mentioned collecting location data, device identifiers, and usage information.

Made me wonder how much stuff I've agreed to over the years without even looking.

Does anyone actually read these policies, or do you just check the permissions and hope for the best?

Question easy way to change ip that actually works?

ive been trying to figure out how to change ip without locking myself out of half my accounts. Tried a VPN with auto rotate and it kept breaking my 2FA logins mid session.
Also tried the router DHCP release/renew thing but my ISP just gives me the same IP block back most of the time so it barely does anything.
The MAC spoofing + new lease method worked better for me but it's more setup than just running a VPN app.
Still not sure I'm doing this the smart way though. Has anyone found a method to change ip that actually holds up over time without causing login issues everywhere?
