:( man I never played a game that made me feel so much emotion in my life. I loved 2 just as much as 1, sure the direction could’ve went another way but the story was that more impactful the way they went.
also song name pls :)

I feel you man i love the first game, but there's just something about part 2 that I can't get out of my head. I know a lot of people wish the story went differently, but honestly I don't think it would've hit me this hard if it did. its the best thing i evet played

A haunting aspect of the games is how Joel’s decisions arguably ended up causing more harm and suffering for Ellie than if he’d simply left her at the hospital. He allowed himself to believe he could have Ellie, Tommy, Jackson, etc. with all he’d done. And the worst part is that so many of us would also make the same decisions.

She needed him but holding onto his memory was killing her and drove her to lose Dina, JJ and Jesse. You found new strength and independent when she left the guitar behind and walked away. Look at the sky in the last scene: it’s environmental storytelling and we see the clouds breaking and light coming through. Compare that to the sunset her and JJ had or the peak of the storm as she attacked Owen and Mel and then was attacked by Abby.
