Help Is mastercomfig codebase malicious?

https://steamcommunity.com/app/440/discussions/0/727997144358760152/

Was trying to figure out why my music was bugged on jumpacademy.tf dedicated server 1's map (think map called jump_academy2_rc9a). For some reason, the music just becomes creepy voices and whispering on this map alone.

Happened across this one's steam discussion board, not really sure if it's real or not. Not experienced enough to understand and see if there's malicious code in mastercomfig. I haven't seen anything bad about it before, maybe these guys are trolling?

There’s an easter egg on that map where if you try to noclip to cheat at the little c-tap test at spawn you get teleported to a creepy room that whispers at you with those creepy voices. I don’t know why that sound is playing elsewhere, probably either a bug or an admin trolling

mastercomfig has nothing in it but source engine console commands. the entire thing is just cfg files and none of them execute malicious code. the steam forums meanwhile are a cesspool where anybody can just say anything they want if the dev of the game isn't watching them, and valve isn't really watching them.

I don’t know too much about the map, however there’s a slim chance that you use a custom addon in mastercomfig that removes default soundscapes.

If you do, maps that use custom soundscapes in special areas will use default ones to control when that sound is “on” and “off”. If the mastercomfig is set to remove default soundscapes, it might be unintentionally removing the “off” button.

Not malicious, just imperfect.

That is weird though. Maybe it replaced, renamed, or moved a file.
