Advice on mods
This is my 1999 Nashville Tele. It has the 5 way selector switch. I would like to be able to select the bridge/neck pickups. I’m considering adding a push pull tone pot to achieve this. Has anyone done this? Looking to avoid pitfalls as I am a novice.

NGD! Hils HNT1M in Ruby Red
Hope this counts as a Tele despite the missing headstock lol. This is a thing of beauty, the finish is a lot darker than it looked on the website and I am in love!
Overall I am very happy with it and it's a lot of fun to play on the compound radius fretboard. Though the tuners could be easier to turn imo.
Sounds just like a Tele, but a bit on the thinner side. The cavities are properly shielded and I was pleasantly surprised to find a treble bleed installed right from the factory.
Setup wise, I threw my go-to 10-52 strings on and went through the usual steps. The nutslot for the g string is a bit high, but workable. The high e had a few buzzing frets between 2 and 6, but a bit more neck relief took them right out. Didn't have to do a thing to the intonation, it was spot on right away.
The only real issues are slight fret sprout (not skin-cutting, but definitely noticeable) and one of the saddle height adjustment screws being stripped, despite having used the allen key that came with it.

NGD Telecater FMT HH
I picked this up a couple days ago used from Guitar Center for $638 out the door. It is literally unplayed in like new condition. I put a new set of 9-42 NYXL’s on it and it plays and sounds great.
The pickups are Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge and SD 59 for the neck pickup.

Any of these pickguards look sexy?
Thinking about a small mod to my white blonde squier cv (p90 to the neck) and i need a new pickguard, i find these funky, but i like them, what do you think?

“built” this yesterday
I bolted all the parts together on this MJT body, all-parts FAT neck, Emerson wiring harness and David Allen Cheetah Pickups.

2015 American Standard Telecaster – Original Natural Ash finish?
I’m thinking of buying this used Fender Telecaster from Guitar Center. I don’t know a whole lot about Fenders or Telecasters, so I was hoping some of you more knowledgeable folks here could help me out.
When I looked up the serial number on Fender’s website, it came back as a 2015 American Standard Telecaster as Body - Ash and Color - Natural.
But, GC listed it as Butterscotch Blonde, and it definitely looks more yellow-orange in person than the Natural Ash shown on Fender’s website. I’m wondering if whoever took it in on trade simply entered the wrong color.
I also noticed the pickups were swapped for Seymour Duncans, which doesn’t really bother me. I’m more concerned about whether the neck and body are original. Like if this is a partscaster 😅
Does the finish look original to you, or could it have been refinished? Does anything about the neck or body look off?
Also, assuming everything checks out, what would you consider a fair price for one of these with the pickup modifications and a Fender wooden hardshell case?
I’d really appreciate any insight or advice.
Thanks in advance!

The big issue with my Squier Debut Telecaster-
- is that it has me infatuated with Telecasters at the moment. As a guy that’s been almost purely humbucker and hated the glassy sound of strats, I’m shocked at the range this $150 guitar has. I might have to look into a used mim fender at some point.

Restrung my tele with flatwounds, here’s Blue Bossa (on a red tele)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was using flatwounds pretty consistently for years, and then I used roundwounds for a couple of months. Wanted to see how it would feel to switch back and forth, so I put these Chromes (flatwounds) back on the tele. Turns out I like both, so can see myself going back and forth a bit. There’s certainly a tone difference, but even more noticeable is the feel difference.
Playing the famous standard Blue Bossa (Kenny Dorham).
Thanks for listening! Fun to try out new strings / revisit strings just to change things up

Is this a good deal if I want a vintage Tele?
I heard the 2012 American Vintage are the closest thing you could get to actual vintage without spending big bucks

Is my neck too straight?
Ive recently put a new bridge on after being unhappy with the last one i had on. I had it set up before but it was still rattling a bit so i changed to this, but still i have the action really high and still the strings rattle when i play. I'm thinking there is no relief on the neck but wanted some other opinions before i start messing with it again.
Hopefully ive attached some pics.

New Addition
I’ve been a strat guy for 30 years who occasionally plays Les Pauls and juniors. I’ve wanted a butterscotch blonde tele for a while now and never pulled the trigger on one until today. I fell in love with this American Pro II and knew almost immediately that it had to come home with me. All I can say is WOW!

Something changed.
Still on the bench. My dumb eyes cannot see the fret markers on top of the neck (aged clay on rosewood) in anything but really direct light and I kept being distrected when I’d glance down. So I bought some new inlays in mother of pearl but then I got shy about drilling holes in a ‘spensive Tele neck - what if the nitro cracks, what if I slip and misalign, arg!
So, I bought a maple neck that’s even MORE chunky than my ‘54 carve rosewood to use in the meantime. What do yall think?!
Probably still taking the rosewood to the shop to have a date with a drill press or at least a vice and hand drill.

PU Suggestions for Telecaster Plus?
Got the Fender Modern Telecaster Plus quite a while ago. So far playing on it for ~ 12-13 years, definitely the guitar I used most, despite I was never happy about how the neck was feeling with that much lacquer. So I decided to make some upgrades to it last week. :)
changed the neck to a Modern Player Neck with perloid inlays, pau ferro fingerboard and a satin finish.
Fender locking tuners, instead of the stock vintage tuners.
pickguard is replaced by 3D printed one - for the looks, but also to have the neck PU on screws, so the height can be adjusted.
replaced the bridge saddles to little more solid ones, and some other minor stuff - bigger strap pins, perloid knobs, other string trees.
apart from shielding everything with copper foil, I kept the PUs and the wiring as stock for now.
I still plan to change the pickups, but couldn't decide yet, what to get for it. Anyone have good suggestions for the PUs? Would love to use it for recording. :) The toggle is to split the Humbucker and I like to keep that option.
Thanks all 🎉

MN blender mod experiments.

Couldn’t find that many MN pot demos of out there so hopefully this could help anyone who’s considering this kind of mod.
MN blender pot > fixed highpass > linear volume/series > 2-stage notch filter
Been sort of documenting this tele mod project, but this is how it actually sounds. (Please forgive the janky playing - still getting used to the riding technique).

Pick up advice - dimarzio Chopper T
Hi all, I am looking for some advice. I want to soften the one of my tele for a more mellow sound. Te recommendation is the dimarzio chopper T.
Has anyone any experience of the pickup. Is the push pull option worth it and I’m not sure what the difference between a 250 and 500 pot is.
I can solder but I’m wondering if it’s a challenge. I read somewhere to check it doesn’t end up out of phase with the neck pick up. How do I check for this?
Sorry these are really basic questions. All advice greatly appreciated. It’s a Mex tele if that makes a difference.

EMG Tele pickups
Anyone use these in their tele? If so, how do like them as opposed to passive?
