Discussion 💬 Who should Iran’s next manager be? (Keep it realistic given the economic and political state of Iran)

It doesn’t matter. We have no funding into the league or into players. A coach can only do so much with bad player development.

If you were a governmental entity in charge of choosing the new coach would you even sack Ghalenoei given his recent interviews and bring people like Majidi or Golmohammadi?
The guy is too much of a khayemal to be sacked, and the system has never been less meritocratic.

True… but god forbid this regime survives even longer… are they really going to keep him if they lose almost/literally every game??? surely they will change eventually!

Preferably European or S American coach with a history of good results. Caveat being he has to hire atleast two Iranian assistant coaches. We’re not yet ready to have an Iranian TM coach but I think with good experience and tutelage, there is no reason we can’t have one after 2030

The fact Uzbekistan got Cannavaro managing their NT and we are looking at these as realistic options says everything about how far we are falling. Even CQ returning again is unrealistic imo.

As an Iranian who hasn’t sold out like so many of you and isnt a Zionist traitor bashing his own country to be accepted by America- I don’t really care. Playing football is a privilege. Iran is currently in the fight for its sovereignty. For its survival. What matters most is IRAN. Not kicking around a ball right now.
