Man, I can't believe I've been sleeping on MMOs for this long lol especially SWTOR, this is basically my first real MMO and I'm having way more fun with it than I expected. For a game this old, it honestly looks amazing, and I love how the combat feels. It's pretty simple, but idk, it's just really satisfying to play. The world though is probably my favorite part so far, there’s just so much detail everywhere, and the music is just so good especially in that one area in hutta lol i can’t remember. the characters and everything genuinely makes me feel like I'm in the Star Wars universe, I don't even know how to explain it lol. I can just sit there exploring and lose track of time.

I haven't played WoW, RuneScape or really any other MMOs, so I have nothing to compare it to yet, but now I'm actually interested in trying more. Been thinking about giving OSRS a shot and trying WoW Forever when that comes out next month. Really glad I gave this game a chance. Didn't expect to get this hooked, but here we are lol.

The Daily Area known as the "Black Hole" has always been a separate area on Corellia since its official release, but it was originally planned to be a part of the main Corellia map proper.

I was rereading this Deep Dive post from years ago and it mentions how the Section X Daily Area was originally going to be a part of the main Belsavis map, and that's true too! But it mentioned that the Corellia one could be incorrect as no footage of it existed.

Well, I made this footage years ago with plans to make a YouTube video about it and the Section X area. I've been to the Section X one a few times but I was never able to put another group together to capture footage of it so I sat on this for years. The Black Hole "beta" area is accessible solo. I don't really play the game anymore so I decided to share this footage for anyone interested who may have never seen or known about this before. Check the comments for the video I took running around the area.

Imagine my disappointment when I finally saw her in game and they gave her the straight black hair.

I have never done this side quest on Nar Shaddaa before, so I wanted to give it a try, and I was completely caught off guard by the absurdity of this moment. I was CRYING.

I really had to dig deep for this one. The Trooper really doesn't have many temporary allies. Jonas doesn't count, he's a recurring character. Same with Jaxo. Here we have Mayor Klerren, Captain Cormac, Senator Evran, Locke, Lieutenant Coria, and Conrad Gall of Dagger Wing.

I'm still not sure about this, but are the bonus series unlocked after completing the planetary questline or the class questline?

Like that's all it really seemed to do, Although Zash's body was still around after the Ritual took place, and from what I know ET is suppose to destroy your body as the ritual takes place. Either way it seems to be very very close.

Also for anyone that might not know, this is the ritual Darth Zash keeps going on about during Chapter 1 of the SI story.

I know they respond to dialog choices on planets that come before you meet them, but will they respond to choices ON the planet you meet them on? Like Gault on Tat. dialogues. Having a hard time finding choices that get him to react there...

Vote for your favorite storyline! We have chapter 2 of the Knight story, from Balmorra to facing the Emperor in his fortress and losing. And we have Forged Alliances, which comprises the four flashpoints that serve as the prologue to Shadow of Revan.

What is Lana wearing in this video. It's not mine. I just think the outfit looks really cool so I'd like to know where it is.

Potential hot take coming in, but Lana doesn't really do much. Yes she and Theron both run the alliances spy network, which while important just doesn't get shown to us at all. She is mostly used for explaining stuff, and probably being the companion most brought up on missions. She's super loyal, which while it makes scene is a bit boring.

Im not saying she should stab us in the back or anything, but she could have some more interesting interactions like Theron. Not only did he betray us, but for a sensible reason, he also has strong ties to the republic and will react if something bad happens to it. The battle for the meridian complex is a prime example. If Krovos goes on a civilian killing spree Theron will be pissed and not attend the celebration party afterwards. He also defies orders when told to stay put during the Echos of Oblivion mini arc.

I've played all of the class stories a lot of times. I love making new characters and re-experiencing the base game. And I always have a very good idea of how I feel about each story. I know what to expect, and I know how much I enjoy them.

But none of them have a question mark beside them quite like the Knight story does for me.

The Knight story is the class story I constantly go back and forth on how I feel. For the first few years, I considered it my favorite Republic story. My third favorite overall. But over time, and as I got older, I grew to find it a little unambitious and at times even bland. It fell from my favorite Republic class story to ranking beneath Consular and Trooper. (Smuggler is a lot of fun, I just have big problems with its second and third chapters.)

But every so often, I'll replay the Knight story, and find that it hit harder than I expected it to. What gives? Why does it sometimes hit and sometimes fall flat for me?

Examining the story, it's a very quintessential Star Wars experience, which is probably what they were going for. A very classic "hero triumphing over evil" type adventure. And when you're in the mood for it, it goes hard!

I find the companions hit or miss. And I mean they literally either hit or they miss. Kira, T7, and Scourge are great. Rusk and Doc aren't AWFUL, but they really stand out as misfires when standing next to the other three great companions. Rusk is severely undercooked and Doc is a sexual harassment suit waiting to happen.

The character's journey is good. You can really feel their growth over the course of the story, but that is almost entirely thanks to the ending of Chapter 2, where they fall to darkness and have to return to help save the light. If not for that plot point, it wouldn't feel like the Knight had many obstacles to overcome. Cause they kinda just steamroll every other challenge.

The male and female Knight both have good performances. Neither feels weaker than the other and largely comes down to personal preference.

So, why does this story struggle to find footing in my own personal collection of opinions? Other class stories have their own vibes, simple premises, weak companions, flaws in the journey- and yet my opinions of those other stories have barely changed over 14 years. I just can't get this one nailed down.

I think something I've realized makes a big difference is the character that I've created. If I feel particularly attached to my current Knight, I obviously enjoy the story a lot more. So, I think in the future, I need to really think about the kind of character I want my next Knight to be.

As of making this post, I think I'd put it over the Trooper story but under the Consular story. Which is a hot take, but the Consular story is kind of the opposite of my experience with the Knight story, where I came to really like it as I grew up, and I now view it as the more unique and enjoyable Jedi experience.

Overall, I'd rank the Knight 5th in my class story rankings. But that changes all the time, as I said. Sometimes it drops, sometimes it goes up. But it never goes above the Agent and Warrior stories, those will always be my top two.
