Just got these new Lungers. Came last night after dark and then it’s been raining all day, so haven’t been able to wear them out yet, but I’m pretty sure I’m in love.

First time looking through Serengetis mineral glass. Super excited for some sun tomorrow!!

These lenses have a subtle gold mirror. Kinda hard to see but I’m assuming it’s more noticeable in the sun.

My only complaint is I think the arms are slightly too long, but I believe the description said the temple tips are adjustable? Anyway, just wanted to share! Super excited!

Something I learned about last year that has made a huge difference for me, is cleaning the inside of the windshield.

I've spent a lot of money on sunglasses I keep in my car to always get the best view for any conditions when driving. I currently have in my car Serengeti Drivers, Smith Rose Blue Mirror, Serengeti 555nm, Maui Jim Blue Hawaii in glass, Smith low light in glass, Maui Jim HT in glass, and a Persol with polarized rose photochromic in glass (that isn't made anymore). But the effect of using these amazing sunglasses gets blunted when the windshield isn't clean.

When the car gets hot frequently, which some people have year-round and others just in the summer, oils from the dashboard, leather, and other items can get into the air and stick to the inside of the windshield over a few months. This hazes the windshield.

You will likely not notice this because it happens gradually. It makes night driving more annoying because glare from direct light at night highlights the haze more. But the reason you will notice it more is in the fall and winter when the windshield fogs up, even a little bit. Then it's really bad.

The solution is simple and easy and when you do it, it's like going from 720p to 4k, and I highly recommend doing this every autumn. All you need is a good glass cleaner (I use Invisible Glass) and some microfiber towels (like these, but any work).

The way I do it is to put the towels down over the dash first so the spray doesn't get everywhere, then I spray the whole windshield on the inside and use a towel to wipe it. I find using a circular motion is better. To get the bottom of the glass, you will need to flip your hand over and use the ends of your fingers. You will want to do a thorough job because any missed area will stick out pretty obviously afterwards. This will tire your arm quickly, especially if you are using a bad angle (move the seats all the way back to give you room). Then I do it again, because I never get it all on the first go. You can also take the opportunity to clean the rear-view mirror and the back inside window, which also makes a big difference.

Use microfiber towels and not regular ones or paper towels because they leave streaks that will be very annoying.

I don't have a good concluding line, but I highly recommend doing this. It makes such a difference.

Randolph just came out with some new options for the LightPro collection. These are the ones that have semi-polarized lenses (I reviewed the first three here).

There are two new lenses. One is a grey-based blue mirror, which they depict as having no tint added even with the mirror, which is similar to the Atlantic Blue, a blue mirror with a regular grey tint.

But what is more interesting is the "Octane" lens, which is rose-based and has what looks like a green mirror. This would be the first rose lens Randolph has sold, as far as I can recall.

I haven't tried either yet and will update if I do.

I’ve seen that it could be Moncler Diffractor ML0206, ML0089, or that it is some sort of welding/blue light glasses. It could be entirely custom for the show, but I’m not sure

Any help would be appreciated in trying to find out what glasses these are! Thank you!

It looks like Vuarnet has released new lenses; what are your thoughts on them, and has anyone tried them yet or is planning to? I was thinking about buying a pair.

when i scan second-hand listings such as eBay, and i do so specifically for a frame that i know is made in both black frame with grey neutral lens and tortoise with hcl bronze.... i almost always find more, usually many more, tortoise bronze being re-sold.

why do you think that is? why more tortoise bronze for second sale?

and before you assume MJ sold more hcl bronze in the first place, actually MJ sells more grey neutral.

it kindof looks like MJ neutral grey buyers are keeping their sunglasses.

I found this pic of Uncle Al today and immediately fell in love with those frames. This picture was taken in '82 or 83 but unfortunately that's all I know.

Based on the recommendation of u/954CG, I picked up the Jetty in Brown 12. They'll mainly be used for fly fishing and hiking the NE where there's mixed light and almost always a tree canopy. First impressions are very, very, good. They remind me of a less saturated Smith Chromapop Brown which was always a little too saturated for my taste; and the Brown 12 seems to have better clarity from my initial impression. I'm not sponsored or anything like that, I just want to shout out a good pair of lenses that can be had for 100.00 or so. Killer deal IMO.

I am begging someone to find more info on these I-gogs 14GHD sunglasses. I owned these sunglasses for a while, got em from kwik trip a couple years ago and lost them. they were the best, most comfortable sunglasses i've had and every time i search for them, it's always a different style that pops up. after hours of digging i finally found them on the farm king website and NOWHERE ELSE. i can't order them online and their locations are incredibly far from me, with no guarantee they’re even there. does anyone know where else to find these??? I am convinced they are the least documented sunglasses in existence.

Didn’t want to post a photo of my face on Reddit, but The Flats are awfully close to original Oakley Holbrook (which I lost and wanted to replace).

I have another pair of Oakley with Prizm Jade lenses and love the purple/rose base tint. The 3 pics are from my Fugi camera, so I locked down white balance and matched exposed to keep them relative. Natural light, MauiRose, Oakley Jade.

It’s a big jump, but these are wonderful lenses. The tint feels just right, everything a little warmer, greens get a nice contrast pop. There is a slight gradient that gets darker up top, but you can’t really sense it in day to day. Really clear and crisp optics.

Is anyone here knowledgable on the differences between standard Oakley glasses / sunglasses and the SI range?

I'm UK based and havent been able to find anywhere that stocks the SI range made for law enforcement

Oakleys UK customer service was unfortunately unable to assist in pointing me to any UK stockists and Oakleys SI in the US seem to only be able to take orders from customers signed up with a verification service for US army / law enforcement.

What I'm trying to figure out is if Oakleys standard glasses might be safe enough with their polycarbonate lenses anyway?

Glasses compliant with ANSI Z87 safety certification is what I was hoping to find but it might be unecessary really.

Any guidance or help much appreciated!

Me and my friend are doing a fear and loathing in Las Vegas cosplay and I really need help finding glasses like these. I’m not looking for anything expensive nothing above like 50$ but if anyone could help it would be a great help

Pairs that look the best often aren’t the most practical.

Everyone wants the magic pair that looks amazing, and also are incredible sunglasses. Very, very few manage this compromise well. I posted a pair of Barton Perriera Stirlings that I think do, and this is the pair that I think do it best, at least for me:

Insanely comfortable and light. Very nice, dark tint lenses. Not glass - maybe not on par with Vuarnet or Maui Jim, but very, very good. Honestly, I think they’re at minimum the equal of the grey Zeiss lenses I have. Great socket protection. And I think they look good. The hinge is a little odd feeling, but works well.

I personally was waiting for something like it from persol. Resembles a 70s italian american mob boss style pilot sunglasses

So I need to get temple tips for my Serengeti Masten sunglasses, because one of them has gone missing. (Apparently they slide right off -- something I didn't notice until one had already disappeared).

Before I just go and order some random replacement tips online, I thought I'd ask if anyone has any recommendations, or advice on getting something that would be especially suited to these sunglasses.
