Any genre! Books set in the UK and 2000s vibes

I want a book which just gives “British 2000s” vibes, not just a book with a British Author published in the 2000s. I like gay (MM) romances, horrors, memoirs and gothic literature books usually, but I’m open-minded :)

Chris Brookmyre's early work is very of their time (90s into 2000s), and very of their place - the central belt of Scotland, for the most part.

A Big Boy Did It And Ran Away is about a Glasgow cop teaming with a guy who runs a LAN cafe (remember them?) to foil a terrorist attack on a Scottish dam. It's sequel, The Sacred Art of Stealing, is about an art robbery in Glasgow. All Fun And Games Until Someone Loses An Eye is about a middle-aged Glaswegian Mum who accidentally becomes embroiled in international terrorism. Pandemonium is about a school trip that accidentally becomes involved what is essentially the plot of the video game Doom.

We Pretty Pieces of Flesh by Colwill Brown, it’s about 3 girls from Doncaster growing up in the early 2000’s, and how their experiences shaped them as adults.

If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things.

Originally conceived as a response to Princess Diana's funeral, but written in 2001-2 as a slice of life on a UK residential street.
