"More Control" And "Not authorized for use" are not the coherent message they claim to send.

u/samanime 3h ago
Yeah. This isn't "your choice" it is very much "we say no".
This is literally going to kill thousands, if not way more. As an Army brat, Tricare was my insurance for most of my childhood... Meaning family of servicepeople ALSO can't get their shots through them.

They can still get the (now optional) flu shots we've always gotten, just not the new mRNA ones. The mRNA vaccines are only FDA approved for those over 50 for now, so not a lot of servicemembers would be getting them anyway.

Yeah, just those silly senior NCOs and senior officers. Prolly don't need those.

Did you read Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. Worth a read, fascinating history of civilizations.

Good thing rampant illness has never had a negative impact on military success.

u/WasteBinStuff 2h ago
"Being given more control over their own healthcare."
....also...
"Vaccine not authorized for any military use including for every single veteran who relies on TriCare."
We live in a time were words have no meaning.

"More control over their bodies" from the people who hate abortions, hormone therapies and colored hair.
•
u/TeaOk2254 4m ago
Except for hormone therapy for service members with less than 'peak' testosterone, as determined by their mandated testing.

Good Lord.
Watch readiness predictably tank and commanders not have enough personnel to meet mission needs as more service members get sick.
No commander wants this political interference.
This is insanity.

Those that do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.

u/m240bravoromeo 3h ago
Being fair how are you supposed to learn from history when you were blacked out drunk when you made said history?

u/Stunning_Weather_403 2h ago
Well do be fair, keep being black out drunk and repeating that and see how happy you are and where end up

I wish people would stop pretending the United States has a "Department of War."
2
u/Significant-Order-92 2h ago
It would be nice. Like I get why the AF people I work with followed his statement on that.
But the executive branch doesn't have the authority to change congressionally created departments names. Regardless of how Pete chooses to identify.

More orders from Vlad.

I would find it less embarrassing if I thought he was actually an enemy agent.

Until WWI, every war in human history saw more soldiers die from disease than from battlefield injuries. Looks like we’re heading that way again.

Now take that whole "make their own decisions" energy and apply it to abortions.

Is China writing US defence policy?
Seems like a super effective way to decrease military effectiveness.
1
u/Significant-Order-92 2h ago
You know. Somehow Kegseth being a Chinese or Russian agent would be less pathetic. At least then the harm he caused would be on purpose and not just because he insists on basing his leadership around Chrostina Nationalism and meaningless buzz words.
Like it would still be bad (and he would probably be more effective at harming military readiness). But some how being an enemy agent seems much less pathetic.
But no. The man with his own makeup room is just going to keep screaming about manliness and testosterone.

u/MinuteAppropriate204 2h ago
Didn't they do this last year and went back on it immediately after the flu knocked out a huge chunk of the military?
2
u/ILiekBookz 2h ago
Shhh, let the antivax kill themselves off. Bases are isolated enough that I doubt an outbreak would threaten herd immunity as a whole that much
2
u/Prior-Ad5197 2h ago
Pfft Fort Hood in Texas is not isolated. More service members hang in Killeen and Copperas Cove than anything. Killeen especially is so far up the military’s butt, you can’t find it. There are literally no jobs because the city made a deal with the military that they would not open factories in Killeen, they won’t allow it. Car dealerships and housing is super expensive because they know they can charge the soldiers more, forget about the civilians, they can get fucked

u/Direct_Tomorrow_9927 2h ago
And now you’ll have oodles of otherwise capable warfighters laid out and down with the flu or Covid when they could be on duty. Way to cut our forces off at the knees, Kegsbreath.
Maybe you should go jerk off to “Paton” and “Commando” and leave the big-boy stuff to people that know what they’re doing.

u/Unlucky-Cup-5461 1h ago
Well that's fantastic news. Perhaps Pete should remember that in World war 1 over 45,000 soldiers died of the Spanish flu while 53,000 died in actual combat.

u/Bean_Daddy_Burritos 3h ago
We don’t want no pussy ass immune system that’s propped up by vaccines like the sissy libtards. Our military is strong, their immune systems are strong. Raw milk and testosterone is all you need. RFK brain worm gave a whole Ted talk about it.
4
u/Numerous_Creme_8988 3h ago
It is better to teach the immune system the hard way. We are stronger without medicine and technology. /s
